We are meeting up with some friends who live in Shrewsbury - we had planned on going to the Chester Grosvenor but the Arkle restaurant is closed for a refurbishment.
Can anyone suggest somewhere really wonderful to go and eat, preferably with a tasting menu. We have been to Birmingham with these friends before so fancied somewhere new - North Wales, Cheshire, Liverpool, Manchester etc.
Somewhere with rooms would be really ideal - many thanks smile

Dunno about tasting menu but...

Lowry Hotel River Room?
Simply Heathcotes?
There's a Michelin starred place I think in Altrincham - never been but others have and rave: think it's called Juniper?

Bit further south but think there are lots of good (and couple of M. starred) restaurants in Ludlow too - seem to remember one has rooms...

Crewe Hall is nice but not sure if it has a tasting menu.

My very, very favourite would be Pecks

Oooh - thanks all. Pecks and Juniper look lovely!

Crewe Hall looks fab but I've promised to take my Mum there for a spa day.

I think that Northcote Manor ticks all the boxes though!! Am going to see if they have availability. Many thanks Racers!

Northcote fully booked sad

Have thought about Ludlow but can't get a room.

Will try to look for somewhere to stay near Pecks or Juniper.
