Start using Mumsnet PremiumWith no financial input possible from either set of parents, how would you split the cost of a wedding? Should it make a difference if one person earns more than the other or should it be be a 50/50 split no matter what?
By the time we started saving for a wedding we had already bought a house together and had joint finances, so it just became a thing that we saved for out of the pot of money.
I think of one person earned considerably more they could pay more. But this is a good time to discuss your finances moving forward.
