Not sure if this is the right place to post...

At the weekend, we’re looking at getting a deposit down on a wedding venue 🥳 if we do, we’re wanting to also get a deposit on a photographer...

How do you decide on a photographer? I’m torn between 2...

Look at their photos of other weddings and also their reviews. And then availability and price!

You look at their previous work and see if you like their style.

You meet them and see if you like their approach.

You look at their price list / service and see what works for your budget.

Hi Bubblemonkey - we hope you don't mind but we've moved your thread across to Weddings as we think you'll find useful advice there.

Good Luck finding a photographer for your big day!

I think it’s pretty much what others have said, do you like their work, are they available, do you get on with them? There’s no point in booking someone who you’re not comfortable with Smile

I found mine on IG. He has hundreds of photos on there, knew our venue well and the best spots around the grounds.

I literally had the photos yesterday (got married in Feb) and they are the best decision we made. If you're getting married around the Cotswolds I can PM you his details...

I initially looked at their cost, even down to cost of photo albums, additional photos, pre wedding shots etc. Then I emailed 3 photographers with details of what I wanted (I'm leaving out the getting ready shots and a few other bits) 1 wouldn't budge on price, 1 offered a discount discount, but the pre wedding shoot wasnt included and the 3rd came back to me with a lovely engaging email and asked me for some more details and told me about his style of photography. He then came back to me with a price, and I booked him the same day. It was the fact he had taken an interest in us, built up a rapport with me and the pre wedding shoot was included in his price. Found out recently that my SILs sister used him, said he was fab, and another family friend is also using him later this year.
