Start using Mumsnet PremiumIs 6 inches a lot to take off a hem on a wedding dress?
(5 Posts)So I've ordered my dress but 6 inches is being taken off the hem I'm worried that it's going to be too short. Does 6 inches seem like a lot? I'm 5ft 2 and plan on wearing 4 inch heels
It has been measured surely? So it should be right. I had nearly 10 inches off of mine. I'm only 5ft so it was needed. I wore a 2 inch heal. I had a 12 inches off the train of the dress. It was fine.
Have you measured it?
Just make sure it's measured properly with you in it and wearing the shoes you want to wear and it should be fine.
Wedding dresses are designed to fit someone who is 6ft so that most women can wear them. If you will be around 5ft6 in heels, that sounds about right.
