So for the ladies wedding favours I want to make a homemade lip balm. I'm thinking of trying to make a gin flavour one. Has anyone had any experience making their own lip balm & can offer advice on ingredients. There are so many different recipes online with varying ingredients, just wondered if anyone could offer any tips. I can't seem to find many gin flavoured ones. Do I use real gin or gin flavour? Also how do I make the lip balm a nice colour?
Men are having mini bottles of gin (hopefully homemade too) I've decided to do different for men & women & thought gin flavour lip balm would be a nice touch. We only have 26 day guests (7 are children) so fairly certain the women won't be bothered the men are getting booze & they aren't 😊
Gendered gifts are lame, I'd like a gin lip balm, but I'd take a miniature over it Any day. If you are doing gendered favors consider very similar ones, like gin lip balm for women and lime aftershave balm for men? Or soap?
surely if they all like gin they'd like a little bottle of gin?
I'm not convinced I'd want to use someone else's home-made lip balm (especially if I knew they'd never done it before).
Do you really need wedding favours?
...I freely admit I'm an old killjoy. When we got married last century the Done Thing was still three sugared almonds in a gauze bag and since I didn't like almonds much I said sod that and saved a bit of money and hassle. Went to several weddings which had them, and nobody seemed at all fussed.
I wouldn't gender the favours either. Everyone will want gin, because alcohol always goes down well and I'd worry about what was in a homemade gin and whether I'd have a reaction to it...
We're not doing favours at all, but if you want to, just bulk buy gin miniatures and people can either drink it there or take it home
