Can't decide on date!

Hello, my partner and I are getting married in the next 12 months and have decided on a venue (hotel type place where we will have ceremony and reception). But we can't make our minds up on the date- we have narrowed it down to either this October (which doesn't give us that long!) or late April. Which would you go for? Thanks!

Late April - more time and better flowers. Check daylight hours for the dates your considering as well - more daylight hours gives you a bit more flexibility, especially for photos.

Assume you've checked for sporting events, bank hols etc?

Thanks Pootles, yes late April would avoid the Easter holidays and any bank holidays, and no sporting events!

Late April. Check all key people you'd want to attend, close family etc aren't out the country that day. You can take the planning a bit slower if you give yourself longer but do start looking at photographer and hair/make up artist if you want one as soon as you've booked as they book up fast!

I'd choose April personally because of longer daylight hours.

I'd go for October, it's my favourite time of year and the Autumnal vibes for photos are perfect. We got married on the 28th of October 2017 and we had a wonderful day and the dark nights meant we had fab photos with sparklers etc.

Thanks all, that's really helpful, definitely leaning towards April but there are pros and cons to both!

I’d prefer April and 4 months to plan everything would be very stressful!

More time to save and plan.

Nice spring weather/more daylight.
