(16 Posts)Help!
I'm getting married on the 26th April - we booked it 2 days ago.
We are getting married at the registry office which is what we wanted because we didn't want a big fuss and we have 20 guests (if everyone we invite comes that is so could be less). We don't have a big budget at all, and I'm looking for a wedding dress for under £200 - closer to the £100 mark if I'm really lucky!
I've seen a lovely dress on Chi Chi (first picture) but of course it isn't in stock. I'm a size 18 but will probably need a 20 in a wedding dress depending on the style, and I'm 5'11". I'll be wearing Dr Martens so don't need to worry about heels. I want something quite plain. I like plain satin dresses, or plain tulle too. Don't like ruffles or ruching and I don't really want anything too embellished (however am open to something with lace/embroidered sleeves)
I'm probably being ridiculous asking this but I've never bought a nice dress before, let alone a wedding dress and even though we are only having a small no-frills wedding I want a nice wedding dress.
I've attached pictures of 2 of my favourites I've seen and I've had a look on ASOS etc all the usual cheapish places but can't find anything in my size.
This place has size 20 in budget however I think you have to go on store www.wed2b.co.uk/vana

This shop is amazing, you can choose any of the designs to mix and match to your specifications and change anything you like
it's best if you can get there in person but you could do it online and if you choose from the "prom" range then there are plenty in your budget to get exactly what you describe
I just wish I'd found it before my wedding
@Villanellesproudmum that dress is beautiful! But when I do the size calculator thing it says the dress isn't available in my size.
They do have a wed2b store near me though and I think I might go in this weekend to see if they have anything or just to at least try something on to get a better idea
Marisota, JDWilliams, Monsoon and Debenhams. All do wedding dresses.in size 20.
what area do you roughly live in? if you live in east their is a place in Harlow call Peaches which does a large range of dresses also Oxfam do wedding dresses both online & in some of their stores
eBay
@Maverick66 I’ve already looked at all those places and sadly there’s nothing even close to what I was wanting. I’ve seen a lovely dress on ASOS but it’s out of stock
😂 so do I take my offer as a no? I’m not particularly keen to let go of my wedding dress but I was trying to be nice and help out someone on a budget - an acknowledgment would have been nice!
@Hiphopopotamus that's a really nice thing to offer to do for someone. Agreed some sort of acknowledgement wouldn't go amiss.
Wow grim is that you? Gorgeous!!! I’m off to look on ASOS...
@Notmyrealname85 yep, thank you! I got all of the bridesmaid gear there too it's an absolute haven for wedding stuff.
I had mine made to measure-was only £300...best decision I made as shop bought dresses I found were a bit of a hit or miss in sizing.
Grim you look stunning! Poorbride I hope you find something.
