String quartet

Has anyone had or booked a string quartet and if so, can u give me an idea of the cost please?

Depends where you are and what you want them to play for. If it’s just playing before the ceremony and for the ceremony then you’re probably talking a minimum £400. (And that’s cheap) If it’s for ceremony and two hour drinks reception then you’re probably talking £640ish. But for that you’re getting 4 professional musicians who will probably play every kind of music you could conceivably ask for. It’s very competitive. If you won’t pay it then someone else will and you’ll find that the good quartets get booked early. It’s very much, you-get-what-you-pay-for.

Ours is £630 for half an hour before the ceremony, the ceremony and the two hour drinks reception.

Where are you located?
Get some students from one of the conservatoires. If you were in New York you could go here for fantastic musicians:

I don't know if there is a similar set up in London, but I am sure you will get equally skilful performers, (probably at a lower price, but please do pay them well, and don't forget to thank them and offer them a drink or snack if you like what they contribute to your ceremony).

I had a look at this and found really good cheaper priced student musicians from Guildhall School of Music - if in South east

I had one and it was £650. They played for 30 min as guests arrived, during the ceremony and for 2 hours afterwards. It was pricey I suppose, but it was 4 skilled people giving up their Saturday afternoon
