Wedding transport for guests- did you provide it?

I've not been to many weddings and so I don't know if transport between the church and venue is expected to be provided by the bride and groom? We could ask people to drive to the church and then to the venue, they can leave their cars there safely over night if they would like to drink and get a taxi home. Most people will be staying a 7-10 minute drive from the venue in the nearest city. We could alternatively hire a bus to transport people from the church to the venue.

What did you do?

We organised a bus and arranged for cars to be left at the church for morning after pick up

Everyone made their own arrangements. I have been to lots of weddings and I think only 3 or 4 arranged transport.

No, but if you aren't staying at the reception venue as an overnight guest then remember to make arrangements to get you and the groom home or to your hotel.

No. Plus it was far easier for people to make their own arrangements. Then they left when they wanted to.

I've never been to a wedding that has provided any transport, either between venues or for the way home. I've never expected it or been annoyed that it hasn't been provided.

I've been to a couple where a bus was arranged to transport guests from church to reception. It was much appreciated in both cases. Will any of your guests not have a car? Will the ones who drive have to stay sober or is it possible to leave their cars at the venue and pick them up the next day?

We had one going, from the hotel most of our guests were staying in, but not one coming back - people will want to leave at different times anyway.
I'd price one up and see if it fits in your budget.
