(7 Posts)Hi,
We want to get married, just the two of us (&witnesses obv) and our 3 children. We want to keep costs low so will be having a registry office. We don’t want to use our local one as I was married there first time round so will need to be in a different city/town. We live in the Midlands, land locked but we love the seaside, does anyone know of any seaside towns with a register office that also has nice hotels for before and after? We looked at Isle of Wight but couldn’t see any suitable accommodation really so if anyone knows anywhere there too? We like Radissons and stupid flashy hotels to splurge on for special occasions so will need to be quite special.
I’m tying myself in knots with google searches so any thoughts/suggestions will be v gratefully received!
If you don't mind a bit of travelling how about South Queensferry registry office? Beautiful views of the water and bridges behind it, the rooms are gorgeous too! Loads of swish hotels nearby, Orocco Pier is lovely and there's a Doubletree by Hilton over the bridge. The Dakota is nice too.
How about Southport Town Hall? There's a Radisson overlooking the sea or the Vincent Hotel is lovely and a couple of minutes walk to the town hall. Plus lots around for the children to do beforehand.
A London one? The Park Plaza Westminster has fabulous views over the houses of Parliment and the Thames. Lovely pool too. They do weddings but not sure if they would do just the ceremony.
Must be a registry office near the south bank though?
I went to a lovely ceremony at Weston Super Mare RO. Photos on the 'beach' afterwards.
Google CREAR wee weddings. They provide the witnesses etc. It is on the coast of west Scotland.
Friends of ours had an elopement wedding in Devon - hotel provided the witnesses, flowers, champagne picnic and dinner / overnight stay, it's more common than you'd think.
Googling "elopement wedding" and the area you are interested in will bring back dozens of results.
