Are you matching your bouquet colours to your decor/wedding colour?

Thoughts on not doing so?

I'm having a ribbon/brooch bouquet and was going to order it in lilac as that's the wedding colour, but now I've had another look at the website, I'm thinking red might look better, but I don't want red as the decor etc colour.

Would it look odd to have the reception decorated in lilac and white and/or silver but have a red bouquet?

Slightly... some people will notice but most probably won't care! You could have two/three colours?

Imo red doesn't really go with lilac.

My husband wanted a deep purple (not cadbury) as our colour but as it was a summer wedding I felt this was too dark so I mixed in lilacs which was a nice contrast.

I just think you need to be mindful of photos. If you don't care then go for it but if you like coordination etc then find something that works well with the lilac

I didn't match colour but everything was spring flowers.

Red would go better with my dress and 'look'. Maybe I could have a red bouquet and blushes/rose etc as the other colour elsewhere.

I'm not fussed about it all matching, I'm not even bothered about the decorations, I was just going to put some balloons etc up so the coordinating colours are only really the trim on the flowergirls/pageboys outfits and the men's buttonholes. The cake will be a naked cake.

I've googled red satin ribbon bouquets and looked at the images and I'm going to go with lilac & white, or lilac, cadbury & teal.

My flowers didn't match. My bridesmaids and flower girl were in pastel colours (5 different shades). I got a mocha sort of colour bouquet as I didn't want to get dragged in to the whole headache of trying to match it all. It went beautifully with my dress which was a 'cafe' colour and I just liked how I had something different. My bridesmaids had the same bouquets, just a smaller version and theirs were a warm ivory colour.
