Chemo hair loss. Bridal headwear

I'm asking for a friend. She is getting married in a few weeks, undergoing chemo, her hair has started to fall out today.
We don't know how quick it's going to be. She doesn't want a wig but would like her hair loss decoratively covered. Does anyone have any links to suitable headwear that would work?

I like the steam punk style here www.etsy.com/uk/shop/CoutureByCherlene?ref=l2-shopheader-name It says it’s based on a headband for easy wear too.

I’m sure if you search Etsy and contact designers who have something she likes, there’ll be something just right.

@EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard I'll certainly try. I'm worried about the turnaround. The diagnosis was only a few weeks ago and it was straight into treatment.
Custom made may not be possible but something off the shelf and personalised may be doable.., I hope

That Suburban Turban site is brill. I love [[

What kind of dress is she having?

What about a fancy hairband with a veil attached?

She could also consider wearing a wig that doesn't "pretend" to be her real hair. So a blonde pixie crop wig instead of her existing shoulder length brown hair. Look on the wig as a hat with hair

A friend makes broadway veils and headpieces. I’m sure she could a a little more net around the top to make it less transparent really easily. Look on her Instagram for more bridal pics too

It's not just transparency, though, it's softness of fabric. I think either you see if one of the suburbanturbans could be ready in time, or you buy a different chemo beanie and go wild in a haberdashery department to customise it.

I hope the chemo goes as gentle for your friend as possible. I wouldn't want to be the voice of doom, expecting the worst, but I do strongly recommend a beanie sold for patients going through chemo, not adapting a hat, simply because scalps can be quite sensitive when hairloss is recent.

Might she like this style beanie?

That sort of 1920s embellished cloche look is the easiest to achieve with a beanie. The one I've linked also comes in other colours, and you could add bits to the rosette if she wanted fancier. And it's in stock in cream, so you could be reasonably sure of getting it in time.

Thanks everyone for the replies, she is shaving her head tomorrow as the hair loss has come thick and fast and she's very uncomfortable and itchy. I've sent her pictures that you have all recommended so it's a step in the right direction! She is having a tea length dress and originally planned a hair and with birdcage so that should be simple to attach to a chemo beanie

Hi OP. Whatever you friend chooses I hope she wears a huge smile for her big day, as that will eclipse everything else. I wish her well for her wedding day and her future Flowers and Bon Chance.
