Start using Mumsnet PremiumHelp! No clue about planning wedding timings
(2 Posts)We are holding an evening wedding and so far I have the following times for the after dinner entertainment. What do you think about this?
Dinner 18.30/19.00 - 20.30 in Room A with musician from band paying guitar as background music
20:30-21:30 band does live set in Room B
21:30-23:30 DJ set in Room C (adjoining Room B with double doors)
Does this work??
Thank you!!!
What sort of meal are you having and are you having speeches? If you do a traditional sit down three course with speeches, tea and coffee, people tend to like to linger over the tea & coffee, want to mingle with other tables, go to the loo etc so you need to allow for this in your 'dinner' time slot if the band are starting at 2030, in which case you may need longer.
Also an hour isn't very long for a live band - have you found one/do you know how long their set is? 2030- 2330 is fine for music, may need more band time and less DJ though.
