Gifts for parents

Would love to know what other people have bought as gifts for their parents, to give as a ‘thank you’ on the wedding day. We’re struggling for ideas Sad

I know that flowers are traditional for the mums but as both ours will be travelling, that doesn’t really work.

Future MIL doesn’t drink so naice booze won’t work either. Her health problems mean that gardening, walking etc are out of the question too. She’s not into jewellery or makeup either.

Help?!

My parents got a voucher for the garden centre and his got one for a restaurant. The mums also got little glass ornaments with mother of bride/groom etched on them and the dads got chocolate.

We got married in South Wales for sentimental reasons so we gifted our parents a Welsh lovespoon each - it’s something unique that reminds them of our wedding day so I’d go down the sentimental route!

Oops didn't get our parents anything! Didn't know we were meant to. That said, we paid for the wedding and my parents' accommodation in a swanky hotel for two nights.

I like the restaurant voucher idea though, so they can go for a lovely meal out.

The dads got hip flasks engraved with [our names] wedding, the date and location and the mums got lovely lace trimmed hankies which we had embroidered with the same details using thread to match our wedding colours.

They were all given before the event so the mums had the hankies ready for the ceremony (and dad's had the alcohol for when they saw the bill Grin)
