Lose weight in order for the dress to 'fit'
I know I'm not overweight and I don't want anyone making mean comments but my dress is a size 8 but I feel like I NEED to lose around 6/7lbs to make it actually comfortable ?
I'm trying hard but I have such a sweet tooth!!

Yes!! I ordered my dress back in Autumn and have put in 7lbs (ish) since. Am trying to lose this, plus a bit more as my dress has arrived but I know it won’t fit comfortably (or even zip up properly at this stage). Life keeps getting in the way, been really good and sticking to my SW plan but then i’ve had daughter’s birthday, a bereavement etc and so it’s very hard to stay focused.

But I am determined to do my dress and not have it taken out (its a rather pricey dress at over £2500) and I want to look amazing in it.

OP, cut out sugar and refined carbs. You will be wearing the dress all day and it'll be uncomfortable if it is too tight.

Me! I didn't intend to but I bought my dress last year (getting married in April) and I must have put on weight as the zip is about an inch off being fully up. It felt tight over my stomach and hips too.

So I'm on day 4 of following a low carb diet. I've also invested in some decent spanx (would prefer not to wear them as my dress is quite fitted and I'm worried I'll be hot).

I've got another fitting in a month. Have upped my gym going along with the food intake. Really hoping it works!!

Have you got a plan of how to lose that half a stone @mrssunshinexxx ?

I bought mine to fit back in November. BUT when I look at pics of me in the shop my posture is terrible and there is some back fat ughhh!!!

I have bought dum bells and have until June to rectify this!!!!

Thank you so much everyone for responding
I have until June also so plenty of time to do it but I'm trying my dress this Saturday and if it's too tight I feel like the ladies in the shop will start badgering me to have it taken out?

I run 3 times a week and when the weather is lighter I will get back to doing 10000 ateps atleast everyday I know that helps me but I have been neglecting that through winter.

I also follow the 16:8 diet not sure if anyone heard of it but basically fast for 16 hours and eat in a 8 hour slot I usually do 12.30-8.30 but mostly stop eating at 7.30 eat 2 healthy meals and no snacking in between allow myself a treat after dinner if I fancy one x

You have loads of time :) I'm a week in to low carb high fat - I think about food all the time! I'm keeping going because everyone raves about it but my weight is exactly the same as start weight despite cutting out all sugary snacks and having not pasta or potatoes all week.

How far do you run? I've been running 3 times this week, done 14k in all. I'm hoping that will help. Am seeing a personal trainer next week too.

I thibk you've got some time before you need to think about letting the dress out. Mine didn't even mention doing that! I'm going back at the end of Feb.

After this sat when they will take the length up I'll go back in April then 2 weeks before the wedding in June x

Mine is French lace and it stretches, so it "fits" but is cruelly unforgiving on any lumps and bumps!
I've got 12 weeks to go and I'm on Cycle 2 of Joe Wicks' body coach plan. I'm totally with you on the sweet tooth thing.

We can do this!!

Sort of. I haven't bought my dress yet but I do not feel comfortable buying a dress in the size I currently am. I need to lose about a stone in order to fit in the size dress I would like.

I've taken on sugar free February in order to try and cut out refined sugar and hopefully help shift the weight.

I'm about half a stone from my target in SW so don't want to start trying on dresses until I reach it. I'm a size 12, but on the larger side of a 12. Would like to be a small 12/large 10.

Then want to lose another half stone and tone up a lot and make it to a small 10 by the day of the wedding.

I saw a personal trainer last night. I told him I'd been low carbing and he said he would've recommended that. I said I haven't lost much at all (considering I'm not eating sweet food or potatoes / rice / bread etc) but I have noticed I'm less bloated and I think I'm losing inches - reckon I've gone another half an inch on my waist.

He has written a training plan, minimal cardio but mainly weight / strength training. He said the weights would help burn fat and obviously tone. So we'll see!

10 inches lost from cycle one of the body coach plan but have fallen off the wagon this week because I've been away from home on a training course for work so been unable to prep meals :( definitely getting closer!!! Why do carbs taste so goooooood?

Well done sunshine that's a great loss!

The week before last I was 8 st 13.5 lbs. Last week I was 9 st 3 lbs. On Monday (my weigh in day) I was back to 8 st 13.5 so it's good to know my one bad week hasn't been the death of my diet.

Like Tie I don't want to try on dresses either until I've lost some more weight. Hope you don't mind us being here as I realise it's a different situation.

How's everyone else getting on?

Can i recommend that you go back for a last fitting 1 week before the wedding. Friend of mine had her last dress fitting 2 weeks before as advised and on her wedding day the bridesmaids had to stitch her dress to her bra so it would stay up! Based on this i insisted on a last fitting 1 week before and even though i was not dieting they had to take my dress in by 1cm either side and i was a size 10.

@mrssunshinexxx well done! I'm 4lbs off. I need to add another hole to my belt now. Low carb is getting easier now and I'm having a lot more variety in my diet and lots of water. I've gad comments about how good my skin looks so that's motivating me. Need to book my next fitting

Well done everyone.

@Phillipa A friend had her final fitting less than a week before her wedding day and still spent most of the day pushing up the straps of her dress because they were falling down. It's crazy.

You are all inspiring me! Low carb it is. My weight is the same as last week (which is better than going up). Since then I've not had any wine and now that youve inspired me I will go low carb.

Still need to tone up my arms and back though!!!

Wel. Done, you guys!
