Wedding insurance??

I've been looking at whether its worth it to get wedding insurance. the issue is that my mum has stage 4 breast cancer. I am pretty sure that would mean that no insurer would provide us cover if we need to cancel because mum is no longer with us or not well enough to attend?

is there any point in getting it to cover other potential mishaps?

so to not dripfeed - we have already done the legal side so she has already seen us actually get married. the ceremony/party next year is for friends/wider family.

we have only thus far paid a deposit for the venue. I have a dress fully paid for. so hugely stressful and emotional, I'm not sure what to do?

Can you get insurance for a party rather than the wedding? Check that out

I wasn't able to find a policy that didn't exclude cancellation due to pre-existing health conditions- I was looking for similar reasons to you. Sorry.

Personally, I am getting insurance to cover the possibility of the venue going bust and losing all my money. It happened to one of my friends a couple of years ago and she had to postpone everything else as she couldn't afford to pay for another venue.

Yes, it won't cover you for pre-existing conditions, but it will for other things.
