Easter wedding?

We are looking at wedding dates for next year and most of the summer dates we can do are already booked up. Another option we could do is Easter Saturday. The problem with this though is that we are planning a smallish wedding on the day and a much larger party in the garden the next day - which would then be Easter Sunday. Would guests be put off by this?
Would you go to a wedding party on Easter Sunday?

I am sure that it wouldn't be a issue for lots of people, but am afraid I would go. Also another thing to be mindful of is that if you want a church wedding lots of churches won't hold weddings in Lent and most won't holding weddings in the tridium (which includes Easter Saturday) though this may not apply to you depending on your plans!

I'm sure many would, but be prepared for lots not to. As PP said, you'll struggle to find a church that will marry you but civil ceremonies should be fine

If you are planning to have a religious cermony it is one of the busiest times of year for the Church (Other than Christmas). People with school going children may be planning on going abroad at Easter as it is supposed to be cheaper than the School Summer Holidays and can't o duringthe School term. If you have any guests who are teachers it would depend on "term time". It really depends on who you want to attend your wedding.

Thanks for your replies. I'm a teacher so it has to be one of the hols annoyingly! Not a religious ceremony and lots of our shortlist venues are available on the Saturday - which gives us much more choice than if we were to go with a summer holiday date.

Mainly I'm wondering if people prefer to do Easter at home or with family rather than going to a do?

I'd love to go to an Easter wedding! But I'm not religious at all and haven't ever really done a big family Easter. What are your friends/ family like about Easter?

Unless your family and friends are particularly religious I can't see it being a problem.

For most people I know it's just a long weekend with an excuse to eat extra chocolate Grin

I got married on Easter Saturday and then hosted a meal on the Sunday. No one didn't come and my family are all catholic
