Do people who have destination weddings generally expect people to travel abroad for stag & hen trips too?

Family member is getting married abroad. Both the bride & groom are having foreign stag & hen trips a month or so before the wedding. Is this the norm?

Sometimes. Surprisingly a weekend hen in Barcelona cost me less than a weekend hen in Stroud including spending money (however that’s not to say you can’t visit Stroud for much less than we had to pay out). I imagine hen/stags are more amenable to you not going on their hen/stag party is its abroad if you’re already going abroad for the actual wedding.

I’m in early 30s, lots of friends getting married within the next 18 months, ergo lots of hens and stags for my fiancée and I. I must say the Stags have it down when it comes to planning. Best man books himself and the stag accommodation and rail tickets/flights and circulates this info to anyone whose interested in coming. Nearer the time when they have definites who have actually booked they plan an activity (or not). Hens it always seems to be so much more complicated, lots of trying to please every attendee (which will never happen).
