Dress too tight!

Just had my final dress fitting and the dress is too tight. It fits and does all the way up but very close to the hook and eye pinging off if I move too much. I'm getting married in 4 weeks time and concerned that I won't be able to breath in the damn thing. Realistically how much weight do you think I should lose to loosen it up a bit? It can't really be let out because of the style of the dress. Or are wedding dresses meant to be tight? Realistically I could probably lose 5 lb in time for the wedding but will it be enough?! Gah!! The dress is size 12, which I am in all my high street clothes. Help!!

You could probably do a detox, juicing, low carb or something - intense but only for a short period of time.
Or maybe a body wrap nearer the time to get rid of excess water.
Have you tried it on with some sucky-in underwear?

I hate sucky in underwear, always gives me stomach ache. I should mention I'm due on tomorrow so probably a bit bloated. Just really panicking that I'm going to come undone on the day. I think I will have to just do a stupid crash diet in the mean time. At least it's only for 4 weeks.

Aw no! They are supposed to be very snug so if you're due on it could definitely be that.

Did you wear different underwear for the initial fitting? Experiment with that.

Otherwise, no carbs and no booze for a couple of weeks will get a couple of pounds off - obviously not recommended for safe long-term weight loss blah blah blah but it will do the necessary.

I did also have a fairly indulgent Easter haha. Although I only gained 1 lb since my last fitting so I can't see that being the real culprit. Hmm. Considering the possibility of a body wrap.

Have the dress let out?

Depends on where your weight tends to come off from. If you lose 6-8lb that should easily be enough. And quite doable in 4 weeks.

2 weeks before my wedding my dress didn't zip up at all, it was 2 days before my period, scales said i had gained 5lbs. day after my period started i tried it again in panic, scales had gone down 4lb and dress zipped straight up!

i tried it with different underwear, no bra, 2 strapless bras and the fit was different each time. get it home and try combinations and then drink plenty of water relax and try it on after the period has come

day of my wedding it was a bit roomy!!! (that was 2 weeks ago, I then went to NYC for honeymoon, now NOTHING zips up)

4 weeks before wedding you'll lose a little from the stress!! It'll be fine!
Congratulations and enjoy it ..

Google "lose a stone in a week diet" - and do it about 2 weeks before. It worked for me and even my slim colleague lost 8lb with it. Obvs not a normal recommend weight loss method but good for emergencies.
