On my dress can I get some help?

HeyCat Fri 24-Mar-17 15:19:26

Yes - post away.

I didn't know there was a wedding topic. Would love to see your dress.

Gaaaah Fri 24-Mar-17 15:23:01

Go for it. Love a good wedding thread.

BrightonBelleCat Fri 24-Mar-17 15:24:05

Here it is.

PrivetDrive24 Fri 24-Mar-17 15:25:27

Love the dress but not the red ribbon smile

HeyCat Fri 24-Mar-17 15:26:19

similar to mine! So I like it, but then I like that style generally

Charleyyy Fri 24-Mar-17 15:26:20

I love the dress but agree red ribbon isn't to my taste. What is worrying you about it?

Sparklingbrook Fri 24-Mar-17 15:26:59

I like it too, but not keen on the red ribbon.

YY what are you worried about?

BrightonBelleCat Fri 24-Mar-17 15:27:13

Does it make me look big? Does it need something else around my waist? What age would you put me at?

HeyCat Fri 24-Mar-17 15:27:46

The skirt looks slightly unfinished - maybe it's just the photo but it looks a bit like the net petticoat that needs another layer over it? E.g. Could you have some of the lace like on your sleeves on the skirt?

Gaaaah Fri 24-Mar-17 15:28:01

I think it's lovely. Can I see red shoes too?

Rudymentary Fri 24-Mar-17 15:28:45

Maybe a wider sash rather than the ribbon? Would be more flattering on your waist.

BrightonBelleCat Fri 24-Mar-17 15:30:29

Here. With red shoes.

BrightonBelleCat Fri 24-Mar-17 15:31:05

That ribbon is just one I kind of have. That isn't the sash. I think it's actually ds's karate belt.

Misspilly88 Fri 24-Mar-17 15:31:05

Being totally honest, and please dont take this the wrong way, I think you might find something more flattering. I really like the style and when I went to a wedding shop I picked similar ones out but didn't feel great in them. The lady was amazing and started showing me styles I never would have picked but they looked amazing. I'm also wondering about the fact you're asking, you're obviously not sure yourself. Once I knew what looked nice on, I looked elsewhere and picked something up in monsoon.

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion Fri 24-Mar-17 15:33:18

I think it looks great! Are you going to put a petticoat underneath the skirt? It would really make the dress stand out.

iknowimcoming Fri 24-Mar-17 15:33:19

Much nicer without the ribbon round your waist, love the shoes, can you wear something red on your wrist instead - corsage maybe? But if you're having a red bouquet that would be enough imo. Also don't meant this to sound rude but have you had yourself fitted for a bra recently? Looks to me like you could do with a bra intervention smile

vaginasuprise Fri 24-Mar-17 15:33:45

Honest opinion, no I don't like it. It's like a little girls fairy dress. BUT if you like it that is all that matters.

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion Fri 24-Mar-17 15:34:21

And with a proper wedding ribbon, it'll look lovely. wink

BrightonBelleCat Fri 24-Mar-17 15:34:47

I'm not wearing a bra in the pic I would get proper corset type thing.

Saxa Fri 24-Mar-17 15:35:01

I think it would look nicer without sleeves and I'd lose the sash. The red shoes are pretty, could you wear some red flowers in your hair to complement them instead of the sash?

TheMerryWidow1 Fri 24-Mar-17 15:35:15

agree with Misspilly88, its lovely but I'm not sure its you, love the length etc which I think is nice for you and its better without the red belt. Wondering whether the top part isn't the right cut for you. Love the red shoes!! Again only saying because you are having doubts.

BrightonBelleCat Fri 24-Mar-17 15:37:06

Ok brilliant thank you. Am quite happy to take on all feedback
