Start using Mumsnet PremiumUnusual ways to propose...
(10 Posts)Hi all, I was interested if anyone would share the unusual ways they proposed?? Thanks in advance.
"If we get married we get tax credits and you'll get a visa for my home country in a day", "great, Wednesday suit"?. It was magical
"Let's just do it, lets just fucking get married" after I expressed my disappointment at him joining in with a group of people on a night out about how stupid and pointless marriage is (when he knew it was important to me).
My partner and I went away to Cape Verde for Christmas. On Christmas Eve at sunset we thought we'd have some pictures done in the hotel grounds and on the beach just for something to look back on. Turned out he had champagne ready on the beach for me and had a photographer catch it all for me. I couldn't of planned it any better myself! The rock also helped..good luck with your choices!
My friend went for a walk with her now husband, and he asked her to look down at the beach - written in the sand was "will you marry me?". He had got his sister to do it, I was well impressed!
We'd gone to the pub and he just blurted it out whilst really drunk and proposed with his keyring
Normally I think how great and just "us" it was but very occasionally I wish he'd done something proper romantic like the two above!
Husband drove us up to the summit of Haleakala volcano in Hawaii for sunrise and did it there. Amazing
I got personalised fourtune cookies.. hes said **will you marry me
We went to resturant and i got the waiter to put it in our dessert
He was completely surprised and blown away with my smoothness
On the Eurostar, under the channel so I couldn't call anyone for a while.
He'd been pestering me to read something all week and I'd been putting it off, then when he handed me the book there was a note inside asking me to marry him. When I looked up he had the ring out.
The elderly couple opposite were adorably enthusiastic about the whole thing
My DP is pretty useless romantically (bless his heart) and let slip he'd bought the ring and we were going away. We went to a castle and we sat down and he just went "should I do it now?" and I'm like "yeah but you gotta ask me properly!"
