(7 Posts)Wow. That is right up my street.
That's gorgeous ShoesieQ
Am in the same boat (my third, DHtB's second) and I'm going for it too, dress-wise!
FYI if you want to save a few pennies John Lewis and Debenhams have some great dresses for under £500 (in some cases well under, esp this weekend).
Here's mine!

It's your wedding. They've seen it all before! It's your day, enjoy it your way!
I got married in a registry office (my first wedding, his second) and wore a full on wedding dress. Go for it.
Ok, this is going to be my third marriage, and my partners second. We both want a very quiet one without running away and eloping (we don't have the cash).
We were originally not going to bother but after a life changing event decided we want to commit fully to each other, as the event brought us closer together.
We are going to get married in a registration office. In the evening preferably (yet to sort details). My partner is going to suit and boot, and I want to wear a proper bridal gown of some sort. I am thinking mermaid or tea dress dependent on time of year. Do you think that will be too much? We are literally going to have dinner somewhere after and go clubbing (well pub).
To give you an idea I have never worn a proper bridal gown before.
