dress advice, am I reaching for the stars here?

Only got engaged on last week but we're planning v.small and soon as possible. Looking at dresses online and it seems what I'd like is impossible everywhere I've looked. Sleeves, with back covered, short. If possible 50s style but all the ones I can find are either backless or arms showing.
Has anyone any ideas of sites that might have options of this? Thanks in advance Grin

Candy Anthony, if budget is generous, Caroline Arthur makes lots in this shape in a middle price bracket. Elsie's attic, Lindy Bop etc and Vivienne of Holloway for a smaller budget. Have fun shopping xx

Have a look at cutting edge brides, they have loads of 50s styles with sleeves and not. I think they also sell samples through eBay from time to time if you're on a budget. My dress came from there originally although I bought it second hand and it was gorgeous!

My friend did not want strapless at all however when she tried a strapless dress on she absolutely adored it but still did not want her arms on show. What she has done is had a lace bolero type thing made, it fastens at the back with tiny buttons and is perfect for her! What about something like that? I can't really post a pic as she isn't married yet and it wouldn't be fair but do you know the type of thing I mean?

What size are you? I've got a 10-12 candy Anthony with a back and cap sleeves that I may well sell...

Woah, wasn't expecting so many replies so quickly, you're all fab! Size 16 justabigdisco but thanks for the offer Smile Going to look up all the suggestions now. Don't know what the budget is exactly, DM insisting on paying since the wedding has been emphasised as SMALL. VERY SMALL! No surprise hoopla, shindigs or hootinannies!

Thanks allSmile don't know why I tried Google before ye!
