1) What time of the year did you have your wedding?
February
2) What type of flowers did you have?
Husband had a Scottish thistle as his button hole. I had a bouquet of a white rose I can't remember the name of and Picasso Lilly's and some other purple flower I don't know the name of
3) What did you do for your hen/stag do's?
DH didn't want one. I went for a quiet meal with close family as I wasn't overly bothered either
4) What was your cake like?
DH went and designed it. Bottom layer was fruit, middle was lemon with lemon curd then we had a small vase filled with cream rose petals between layer 2 and 3 and top tier was banana. All iced in white, with purple ribbon at the bottom of each base with some beading. Simple but as long as it tasted nice I wasn't too fussed
5) What was your colour theme or general theme of wedding?
Theme was wedding day. Colour scheme was purple
6) How many people attended?
About 60 in the day and 100 in the evening
7) How many bridesmaids/best men/flower girls etc did you have?
2 bridesmaids, 1 best man
8) What type of venue did you have your wedding at (church, hotel, barn etc)?
Was at a hotel that had a converted barn at the back. We had the barn
9) What form of entertainment did you have if any?
Really cool local rock/classic rock covers band and a crap DJ
10) What did you do about food/drink - buffet, 3 course meal, free bar, 1 bottle of wine per guest etc)?
As it was winter it was a winter wedding package and all food was included. Warm winter Pimms cocktail after the service. Then 3 course wedding breakfast. Everyone got 2 glasses of wine. We had Spicy butternut squash soup, lamb shanks and chocolate orange cheesecake, champagne and chambord for the toasts. Sausage n bacon butties with potato wedges for the evening buffet
11) Where did you go on your honeymoon and how long for?
Cuba. 3 nights in havana and 11 in varadero
12) Were children invited to your wedding?
Of course! But not many of our family had kids so it was only 4
13) Were you a bit of a bridezilla or was there any drama coming up to your wedding (don't tell me what it is don't worry, just curious)?
Proper laid back
14) What was the best thing about your wedding day other than of course marrying the person that you love?
Seeing 18 months of planning come together, family traveling miles (from Australia) to be there. Oh and those sausage butties were AMAZING
15) What do you think makes a good/bad wedding?
A couple that love each other and family
The only thing I don't like about some weddings is the hanging around. We had ours at 1pm so it was quite quick flowing for guests and all under 1 roof
