We're thinking about the entertainment for after the meal/speeches/cake and we're keen not to just have a DJ as the mix of our guests is such that many won't be lively dancers. I'm not a great fan of dancing for hours myself to be honest. We thought that live music would be fun for guests who were not dancing to watch so they'd feel less left out. We're having a Scottish ceilidh for about an hour first, then I had an idea of having some kind of lounge singer, doing standards, almaybe Fabulous Baker Boys style. What entertainment have youvseen at weddings that doesn't follow the tried and tested DJ or covers band formula, and do you think we're overthinking it and in the end everyone just loves a disco? We'll only have 50 guests or so and the venue has a nice drawing room where a piano singer could play.
I went to a wedding where they had a magician doing tricks in the interludes between the various parts of the day. He also filled the gaps between the various courses at the meal. Everyone loved it as it was v inclusive of all ages from 2-80 years old.
