Very depressing.

Most styles didn't fit, those that did made me look ridiculous.

I'm working hard to lose weight, but the reality is that I'm not going to look fabulous, particularly with my limited budget.

The only dress that looked half decent on was above my budget and was too small, so I've got to try to 'imagine' what it'll look like in the right size.

What dress size are you (rude to ask sorry!)

i am a 26, I spent time in specialist plus size bridal stores

i avoided at first, but they have amazing dresses and it is such a nice experience to actually try the bloody things on and see what it looks like!!!

i recommend big day in castleton, w yorks if you can get there at all, and if you are big busted the brand sonsie by veromia have brilliant support so you dont need bras etc and can get away with strapless if you want

hth

I'm a 20 at the moment, but plan to be 16/14 by the time of the wedding.
Trouble is, I'm told I should really order by early Nov (6months before wedding).
Think I'll toddle off to a plus sized specialist, but wonder if they'll have a very wide range?
I'm SE, so W Yorks a bit too far!

big day had a huge selection, also be aware that the dress size you buy in wedding dresses, does not match the size you wear any where else i.e. mine is a 32 [shocked]

I found this place in Bsingstoke?

Oh wow, some of the dresses at that Basingstoke shop are fab! Thanks so much, will try to get along there.

There's one in SE London that I've heard good things about from several people although not very recently here.

The wedding service in Wallington is goid ans has a lot of plus size sample dresses to buy outright, when I was getting my dress there was a lady who was about an 18 to 22 (not a great judge of sizes I'm afraid) who got one, she looked amazing and it was 300 odd quid. Might be worth a look as they are available immediately and they have a massive selection. The factory shop in Bromley also had a large selection of immediate dresses and they are stocked by size and are about 400 a pop.

Don't feel disheartened, a badly fitted wedding dress looks awful. I felt gargantuan in some and im a 12 in the things Sad
