I am looking for ideas and inspiration and am just curious as to what vegetarians get at weddings.

Also, did you get caterers to do it or did you cater the wedding yourselves?

Erm, I think it was goats cheese salad, then risotto.

We had a summery buffet so had a few veggie salads and other options. There was Moroccan cous cous, goats cheese salad, stuffed peppers, lentil and aubergine salad, asparagus and ricotta tart, vegetable tempura to order. The veggies and halal guests all commented how nice it was not to be given pasta!

I've had mushroom stroganoff / mushroom risotto a few times. Both are safe options. Especially if they don't eat cheese (like me)

Yep I won't be serving anyone pasta at my wedding.

Good ideas, there will be cheese anyway but I have just remembered a lovely spinach and feta filo pastry that I could make. That would be nice.

Risotto. It was very nice. Actually a fair few of the meat eaters chose the vegetarian option.

Leek & potato soup - most people had French onion but it was made with beef stock, however my fussy non veggie relatives also had l&p - then goats cheese tart with the spuds and veg. The dessert was veggie friendly. We had a hog roast in the evening but also served wedges, veggie sausages and various salads.

Oh sorry, just saw the other question, our venue provided all the (excellent) food.

Ours was catered, and we had vegetarian pâté to start, vegetarian Wellington with dauphinoise potatoes and summer veg for main and tarte tatin for dessert (everyone had the same dessert!).

I wanted it to be similar to our non-veggie meal, not a completely separate one.

I am veggie. We had parmesan baled aubergine. Venue suggested lasagne, but I said that was not a very special dish. Starter was deep fried Brie and cranberry sauce for everyone, pudding was Bakewell pudding (we were in Bakewell).

I can' t stand goat's cheese and am not overfond of puff pastry.

Baked, not baled.

We had a mix of veg & meat curries, veg & meat samosas, veg Indian starters, daal, chick pea curry, naan bread & pilau rice plus mango ice cream. So there was something for everyone.

My mum did the cooking for my wedding but there was a hog roast as well. It was like a barbeque I suppose. For vegetarians there was a special spinach and mushroom risotto filo pastry pie with goat's cheese (by special, I mean just there for the vegetarians to replace the meat that they wouldn't be having).
But all the salads were vegetarian - lentil salad, potato salad, coleslaw, cous cous.
In the evening there was a massive cheese board.
