When I get married do I take my engagement ring off or keep it on for the day?

I put mine onto my right hand for the service then switched it back over straight afterwards.

When is the big day?

I did the same - put it on the same finger on your right hand and then swap it over once your wedding ring is on.

I think its correctform to have a bare finger for your wedding ring to go onto.

I had my e ring on my right hand, and put it on top of wedding ring after ceremony.

So the wedding ring goes on first, then engagement ring? Thanks everyone. The big day is Saturday!

Ah congrats!!!
I took mine off and wore it on same finger but on the other hand....
My mum said sometimes brides give the engagement ring to chief bridesmaid to wear?
I just wore it on my other hand and then late afternoon/early evening I put it back on my left hand on top of wedding ring Smile that was in December xx

Yes, the registrar told me during our meeting that you're "meant" to put your wedding ring on first so it's closer to your heart - and then never take it off!! So I switched my engagement ring to my other hand for the ceremony.

I take them both off pretty much every night though.

Good advice here. I wore mine on the other hand for the ceremony as well.

Good luck for Saturday. Grin

My chief bridesmaid/matron of honour looked after it till the ceremony was over and then gave it back. I think it is supposed to be one of their duties

Oops. I left mine on and swapped them later.

Thank you so much. At least I know what I'm doing there then! Hoping the weather stays fair. We have a few things to do today and I'm getting a little bit nervous!!
