Where to book

I'm hoping to get married this winter and have narrowed it down to two venues. One is small and intimate but may feel squashed if everyone we invite comes and the other is a huge marquee! Other venues have been discounted for various reasons and these are the two most suitable for us.
I'm worried that the smaller venue will feel cramped or that a marquee in the winter is not suitable-especially if we have too few guests. What would you advise? Has anyone had a winter marquee wedding? And how cramped is too cramped?

Does the small venue have a limit on the number it will hold? Most venues do for fire regulations.

Yes, it means having to have some guests for just evening (which we wanted to avoid) or completely cutting the guest list but it is more suitable for a winter wedding (we feel). Thanks for your reply

We have just been to my sisters wedding which was registry office and then marquee, 50 in total? Marquee was OK (even though there was snow on the ground) as was the right size for the number of guests.

Thank you! Was the marquee cold? How did people feel about the 'being in a tent in the winter'? Were there any negative comments? Ours is heated and a semi permanent structure but it still feels like a summer venue!

Wasn't cold, although was a bit Hmm before we got in. No negative comments at all.

Thank you. It is lovely inside so I hope if people are put off, they won't be for long! (If we pick that venue!)
