Possibly getting a little ahead of myself as DP only proposed yesterday!

But hey, I enjoy thinking about frocks Grin

I'd like to get married in something colourful, def not white or a traditional wedding dress style. Not sure what yet.

Can anyone tell me about nice alternative wedding dresses you've seen / worn?

Gah, that title doesn't make much sense! Blame my horrendous hangover as drank lots of chapagne last night, ouch!

Hi, I wore a blue/purple silk shift dress with beautiful embroidery. I loved and still love it.

Congratulations on your engagement!

Exciting! I never thought I would want a 'proper' wedding dress til I went looking for my dress, then all the other options weren't quite right and I ended up in a 'real' wedding dress that I just adored. Not a meringue, mind you, but a gorgeous, ivory, mermaid type fitted number. Don't rule anything out. Have fun trying things on!

Personally I live a really nice skirt suit, possibly with a fifties style skirt in aqua marine raw silk. It's what i'm going to wear if we do a recommitment ceremony ever ! :-)

Congratulations!

What about these?
If you go to the clients album part you'll see lots of variations on both colours and styles. Plus, they suit almost anybody, as well as being an excuse for an AMAZING pair of shoes!

Congratulations!

Those dresses are absolutely gorgeous babysaurus ... but not me at all sorry!

They're too weddingy!

Sorry I should have been more specific.

I want to get married in a beautiful dress, but not something that when you saw it you would instantly know it's a wedding dress. I'm not into "wedding" dresses at all.

I very, VERY nearly bought and wore a white 'evening suit' style ladies trouser suit for my wedding.....I still regret not doing so and going for a slightly less dramatic knee length dress with frock coat and hat. The suit was utterly gorgeous and I'd still be wearing it now.

Ooh that's a cunning idea, I'll have a think about that one.

I do really like wearing frocks though (usually live in jeans, I love dressing up when the occasion arises).

I could maybe change into a frock for the reception.

Don't think I've ever been in Harvey Nicks. Good excuse now!

MrsLettuce that's absolutely lovely, and it's a beautiful dress but not weddingy - however I have enormous boobs and unfortunately it would look obscene on me!

V shaped necks are great for me, but that V's sadly a bit too low!
Going to have a look at the other dresses on the site, thanks for the link.

LunaticFringe I am doing exactly that right now! :)

this is nice but not sure I love it enough to spend that amount of money though!

I like this too but a bit eveningy I guess

MrsLettuce great link, there's some more alternative stuff there.

I like the colours on this but not quite the right shape I think.

love this but not to get married it - a red herring!

I like the idea of lots of colour sort of like this although not that particular dress

Love this maybe I could change into it for the evening Grin

Fussy aren't I Grin

Can anyone point me in the direction of other posh frock designers?

The poshest I've ever gone is Monsoon (I love Monsoon!) but I'm clueless beyond that!

I had a very femme fatale-esque 1950s dress from a company called stop staring in LA. not to everyone's taste but I loved it!

Some of them are lovely RachelWalsh, I bet you looked stunning!

Not quite what I'm looking for though, I'm a bit more hippyish I guess!
