I'm having a big catholic wedding in a few months time . My friend is a beautiful singer and I would love her to sing the psalm , but the only two hymns I can think on are eagles wings and do not be afraid . any one have any suggestions ?

Thanx x

Not sure whether it's Catholic as such, but there's Tell Out My Soul which is a version of the Magnificat (and we had at our Wedding, the DSs Baptisms and my Grandfather's Funeral among others).

There are a number of versions of Psalm 23 including Crimmond's setting 'The Lord's My Shepherd' and 'Brother James's Air'.

What would the usual Psalm set for the day be? Is there a particular one you are fond of?

Not really . I'm not sure there is a particular one , I was just given a list one ones I could choose from , haven't really looked though I've been too busy trying to think of a hymn I could use instead !!Grin

When I went to see my priest I wasn't sure I definitely wanted the psalm sung , but now I have decided I do , so I now have to have a good think . Smile

I'll have a look later to see what I had sung at my wedding as the Psalm. It was a lovely setting, I do remember that!Smile

yahweh I know you are near?

best idea is to borrow a hymn book from church. It will list hymns based on pslams which can be used for the responsorial.
