Saw this on the 1pm news - Amber Warning on the Isle of Man.

GloriaSmud Tue 01-Oct-19 14:09:15

BBC report here that includes footage of the flooding on the Isle of Man.

That looks quite nasty.

I have low standards but even I don't think my laundry can go out today and hope it's dry by Monday morning. There doesn't seem to be break in the rain at all. (Hampshire).

I'm sick of stubbing my toes on the airer.

OhYouBadBadKitten Fri 11-Oct-19 09:28:53

It's grim where I am too. I can't bring myself to go out for a run.
I did get two loads dry outside on wednesday. I'm very proud of that!

@OhYouBadBadKitten How nasty does Kent look this evening? Do I need to strap stuff down outside?

Emmabryant123 Mon 14-Oct-19 16:20:02

Shit. I use a CPAP machine to sleep and worried about a power cut tonight

OhYouBadBadKitten Mon 14-Oct-19 17:06:01

oh!
I'm so sorry! I hadn't spotted that things were winding themselves up a bit. I just saw the amber alert for thunderstorms. hang on..l.

OhYouBadBadKitten Mon 14-Oct-19 17:09:12

yikes! I'm just about to go into a meeting!!!

ok, so it looks to mostly affect Kent, but SE into EA is at risk in general - flash flooding, lightning and some small sized hail are the primary risks.

for the lightning maps

Elsewhere, potentially 60mm of rain. I'm so sorry, I've run out of time til this evening. Took my eye off the ball.

BlackeyedGruesome Sat 19-Oct-19 19:42:44

Will it stop? Beginning to get trench foot.

OhYouBadBadKitten Sat 19-Oct-19 23:27:49

even on days it's not in the models it rains.

Usually just as you’ve left the house...

OhYouBadBadKitten Sun 20-Oct-19 17:47:26

It's getting ridiculous. I'm retiring. Going to take up scuba diving instead.

It's Monday. I'm at my gardening job and it's raining again - like every Monday for the past 5+ weeks.

On the plus side the lavender has dried so may spend the next hour making lavender bags.

hey ho.

OhYouBadBadKitten Fri 25-Oct-19 14:00:49

Amber warnings out for abysmal levels of rainfall (as well as gales).
Up to 120mm in some spots will lead to flooding.

Looks like it may get a bit wet over the next few days. I was planning on going to Chessington World of Adventures tomorrow but not looking very dry Sat afternoon. Now looking at Thursday and that looks a better day, whilst Friday looks wet.

OhYouBadBadKitten Sat 26-Oct-19 08:29:34

It does look like it's going to settle down after this weekend, which will be a relief.

nannynick Sat 26-Oct-19 10:16:25

Cancelled work today, rebooked for Wednesday. Theme parks on wet day's is no fun.
