Tis the season to be windy - uk storm watch

After Ali yesterday, it's Brenagh today. BBC hinting that warnings could go up to amber and with potential for a squall to go through in the early hours, it could be quite interesting.

So for those in the south and midlands, keep an eye on warnings, think about trampolines and tidy away the garden furniture. Watch for flooding in the rain warning area.

warnings

Next storm after this due on Sunday.

I'd certainly keep an eye on that wreck! It sounds like a bit of a recipe for disaster.

The atlantic certainly is being slightly troublesome at the moment!

oh. It's Bronagh! Not Brenagh. Fighting with autocorrect.

It's a disaster without the wind tbh Grin hopefully we don't have any emergencies as they're closing our road for 9 hours...

It's absolutely chucking it down here in Yorkshire. I was kind of hoping it'd be better by the weekend because it's my dc's birthday and we were hoping to go to a play park and have cake and buns but it looks like it's going to be a day at home Sad

On the m1 here northbound j33 it's pretty grim to be honest. Rain is bad, no wind though. If you have a choice avoid this motorway atm Shock

Remember August.
The hordes on MN weeping and wailing and longing for autumn.
Well you’ve got everything your heart desires now.
Pity the rest of us have to have it.
Fuck autumn.

They've cancelled Velo South. For those not aware it's a 100 mile cycle race which was basically going to cut off entire villages through road closures. One couple even had to cancel their wedding because of it. Although I suppose they're probably pleased they're not getting married Sunday now given the weather...

It's very blustery here still no rain though.

We are in our new house for the first night, it's howling a gale, chucking it down and there are lots of strange noises that we aren't used to of course. It's going to be a long night.

Purple that's hilarious Grin

Wreck that's sensible but after all that....

I think the storm today/tomorrow could be pretty nasty for around the north east coast (ish) tomorrow as it exits with some particularly strong gusts given its early in the season.

Been hearing a few bangs and crashes out there but it's not too bad.

Very, at our old house we knew what they all were. This house creaks and something is tapping against the window. It sounds like Niagara Falls outside and like I've left the window open.

Out in the fens and it’s windy, but not storm windy. We have a row of trees at the end of the garden then nothing but endless fen beyond that so it always sounds a bit dramatic here though! We have a yellow wind warning in place for tonight/tomorrow but only wind speeds of 25mph or less. I thought that would be quite low for a yellow warning - possibly I’m wrong? Hope all of you in the West and wales stay safe and dry.

I had a nightmare journey home last night. Sheffield was gridlocked and it took me an hour to drive 2.3 miles. The river Don had gone from a low, slow moving river to an angry fast moving river in under 8 hours.

Cough watch out for the Sunday/monday storm, there's a low potential that it could be quite severe out your way.

My ds is camping at the weekend ....... we’re in the south east and it’s looking like rain Saturday afternoon with rain and wind Sunday all day plus thunder. I don’t think it’s a named storm though.
Autumn can be lovely with the nights getting colder, Christmas to look forward to etc but I hate not knowing what to wear and having plans cancelled because of the weather!
