To complement the Summer weather thread.

Tomorrow could see some thunderstorms in places across England, but by tomorrow evening, the main area of risk appears to be in the central southern areas (revised forecast from earlier) , where frequent lightning and small hail could form in any storms that evolve.

boots leak like sieves... I may as well have gone out in socks.

but we had rain. I think the grass is looking greener already, though that may just be washing the dust off after weeks of little rain. (a few dops here and there)

OhYouBadBadKitten Sat 28-Jul-18 22:01:34

We've only had 5mm of rain. I'm hoping for a lot more tomorrow.

GloriaSmud Sat 28-Jul-18 18:20:57

We've finally had a decent amount of rain here along with a few good rumbles of thunder. The temperature's dropped even further ~ down to 13C. It's actually rather chilly and a bit of a shock to the system!

Amber warnings for thunderstorm in Northern Ireland this afternoon.

Big thunder storm in South Wales at the moment, absolutely pouring with rain. Blew the bedroom window wide open and made a heavy glass vase fall to the floor! Soon woke me up shockgrin

Feels nice and fresh already though.

⚡️⛈⚡️⛈⚡️⛈ in SE Kent. Preceded by some very bad ass mini tornado flurries.

SoleBizzz Fri 27-Jul-18 15:10:18

Was 31 degrees here in brum earlier as were sat outside of a 600 year old manor house eating cream tea in Birmingham.

We are supposed to be having thunder tonight,so they say!

LighthouseSouth Thu 07-Jun-18 11:55:18

Fox, yes, same issue here.

No sign of a storm.

TheClitterati Wed 06-Jun-18 23:35:45

It's gone now - heading north I reckon.

Whatthefoxgoingon Wed 06-Jun-18 23:18:09

Send some our way clitterati

My indoor temp is currently 24 deg, so we are definitely absorbing a significant amount of heat during the day to stay this warm at 11pm (its 18 deg outside now).

Yes lighthouse we are in London, built up area so I think we are in general, hotter (and not in a good way). Bleurgh

TheClitterati Wed 06-Jun-18 23:15:29

Here we go. Cracking thunder, lightning and heavy rain now! South Kent!

TheClitterati Wed 06-Jun-18 23:02:38

Lots of thunder here on south Kent coast. No lightning though!!! Must be echoing in from the Channel?

LighthouseSouth Wed 06-Jun-18 21:41:10

Ah, fox, you're a Londoner too...yes it's not making any sense. Thank goodness I don't have to use the Tube tomorrow....which is forecast to be 22 but will that be right as today was totally wrong.

Whatthefoxgoingon Wed 06-Jun-18 21:36:51

Hit 25 deg plus a few times this week lighthouse and v muggy. Our thermostat is reading consistently higher than the predicted max temps for London.

LighthouseSouth Wed 06-Jun-18 18:35:35

Fox, so very hot where you are?

I just want accurate forecasting...seems to be all over the shop with all websites.

Whatthefoxgoingon Wed 06-Jun-18 18:29:27

Really really could do with another storm now...

LighthouseSouth Wed 06-Jun-18 18:08:28

Is Accuweather stuck? It's bern forecasting "potential heavy showers tonight" for about a week now.

Today's official temp in my London suburb is said to be 21 but seems more like 25 at least? Met office giving completely different forecast for week ahead. Our flat is so hot in the evening we have to plan round weather.

We never even got a sniff of the thunderstorms that hit Greater Manchester here. 2 miles up the road had a fantastic storm last week. Not us. sad

It's a little cooler today so maybe we will sleep tonight!

LighthouseSouth Mon 04-Jun-18 17:13:08

But I can't even console myself with perfectly symmetrical buttocks grin

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks Mon 04-Jun-18 16:13:25

I know!

LighthouseSouth Mon 04-Jun-18 16:08:03

Perfectly, it's very humid, we def need some rain here but I've given up.

Strange to be wishing for rain in June!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks Mon 04-Jun-18 14:33:00

Same in my part Lighthouse.

LighthouseSouth Mon 04-Jun-18 14:03:00

they keep forecasting rain for my part of London and then changing their minds - the last few days it's been a dark cloud passing over and no rain. Weird.

Ethelswith Sat 02-Jun-18 07:20:31

Thanks OYBBK

Looking overcast, but fingers crossed it'll be OK
