To complement the Summer weather thread.

Tomorrow could see some thunderstorms in places across England, but by tomorrow evening, the main area of risk appears to be in the central southern areas (revised forecast from earlier) , where frequent lightning and small hail could form in any storms that evolve.

Very airless and sticky here in East Kent- but no storm forecast. Somebody has to take the dog for a walk. She is guilt tripping us in turn.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks Fri 01-Jun-18 18:54:55

We had deluge here at about 5, now lovely and sunny.

You must be very close to me, ajandjjmum - waves from Kingswinford smile

Beautiful sunny skies here on the South Staffs/West Mids border.

GloriaSmud Fri 01-Jun-18 15:29:25

Yay! grin
It's so warm and muggy here ~ I've just dragged DDs out for a walk. They complained.... lots!

OhYouBadBadKitten Fri 01-Jun-18 14:47:49

I didn't get wet. Hurrah! grin

OhYouBadBadKitten Fri 01-Jun-18 14:47:07

Plenty of lightning around the Scottish borders and NI it seems.

GloriaSmud Fri 01-Jun-18 13:34:29

Ooo good luck ~ make a run for it!

Overcast (which makes it very muggy) 25C here. Definite signs of the 'right' sort of clouds for thundery stuff!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks Fri 01-Jun-18 13:20:45

kidding I'm in SW London, and the weather's the same here. Forecast has now changed to rain from 5pm. hmm

youarenotkiddingme Fri 01-Jun-18 12:42:39

Perfectly I'm South coast in Hampshire

brizzledrizzle Fri 01-Jun-18 12:36:20

Still muggy, I thought storms were supposed to break that up. We need a big one but without the amounts of rain to cause more flooding.

OhYouBadBadKitten Fri 01-Jun-18 12:24:45

no. I'm going to dash out during my lunch break. ie now. Wish me luck grin

GloriaSmud Fri 01-Jun-18 11:45:03

Sun is out here and it's a warm 22C. I'm hoping that as it's broken through earlier than yesterday, we might be in with more of a chance of thundery rain/ a storm later.

GloriaSmud Fri 01-Jun-18 10:55:05

Didn't make it to the bank yesterday then, OYBBK?

GloriaSmud Fri 01-Jun-18 10:53:47

We have 'foggy and muggy' here (Leicester) as well. I think if the sun breaks through, it could get quite warm and we might have the chance of thunderstorms (that probably goes for other 'foggy and muggy places' as well today.)

There has been disruption caused by storms.
Today and tomorrow's weather warnings.

OhYouBadBadKitten Fri 01-Jun-18 10:48:49

It feels like we might get more downpours. Probably timed for when I need to go to the bank.

BastardGoDarkly Fri 01-Jun-18 10:28:59

Still no sign of even rain, let alone storms, here in East anglia.

Just a very weird foggy muggy atmosphere hmm

Papergirl1968 Fri 01-Jun-18 09:51:32

We had nothing in the West Mids, unless I slept through it, but 15 miles away they were getting multiple lightning strikes.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks Fri 01-Jun-18 08:58:45

Same here kidding. No more storms forecast. Heavy rain from 2pm. Whereabouts are you?

youarenotkiddingme Fri 01-Jun-18 08:45:59

Don't think we are set for more storms today?

So why's it soooooo humid?!

OhYouBadBadKitten Fri 01-Jun-18 07:42:23

Ethel I think it should be ok, but you are right in that we are in uncertain territory....

Next week at the moment more settled I hope. Though mainland europe still looks very unsettled, so don't bank on that either!

Ethelswith Fri 01-Jun-18 07:30:58

Any idea if it's likely to tip it down for The Derby?

The forecasts seem to keep changing all the damned time, and even though the weekend is upon us, I'm still feeling confused. It might be drying up a bit, but 'odd isolated shower' means it's going to bucket down on some people, doesn't it?

Perihelion Fri 01-Jun-18 05:11:31

We're due torrential rain this afternoon in Edinburgh ( possibly with lightning, but storms usually run out of such power here ). I think I'd better remove some water from my wee washing up bowl pond.

Torrential rain will make a change, as for the last few days, it's been mental haar.

SoleBizzz Fri 01-Jun-18 00:33:47

think I just heard thunder.... was hailing here earlier in Brum.
