Its 25 degrees in my house right now. It's September, in Scotland. It's not right, when is it going to be autumn? I want to wear my new coat damn it!

Hopefully not for a LONG time.

dont laugh, but gfs reckons 30c next week in the south of England. silly model. It had better be wrong, I like hot weather, but in the right place - in the holidays.

Feeling quite down about this ongoing heat. I love autumn and I feel deprived.

OYBBK "dont laugh, but gfs reckons 30c next week in the south of England"

gfs?

I haven't got that on any forecasts, I've got 23c in London.

It's not just there either.

28 degrees today in Montreal.

I'm SICK of it.

gfs is one of the computer models. They are really struggling I think with what will happen this weekend and beyond. It's still saying the same this evening

Couple of weather sites are reporting high temps again for next week: metcheck is saying 30 degrees next Tuesday! Even BBC is saying 26 degrees for Tuesday and they normally undercook the temps by a couple of degrees. Now I love hot weather but I would have preferred this in June, when the evenings were much lighter. It seems a waste now!

Sorry that is for SE England.

I've decided to move the seasons along a month. So by my decree Oct is the start of autumn and Jan the start of winter

Like your thinking titsywoo. It's still summer! The rose wine in the fridge may not go to waste after all. Autumn is on hold..

Never I hope.

I don't mind a cold snap in Dec - Jan but that's it.

Watching the boys rugby training and being warm is amazing - long may it continue!

never!!!!!!!
I only want it to go cold when the nights get darker earlier (when the clocks go back) that's my favourite of year! Early nights, seeing my breath in the air, hot chocolate, onesie and a blanket Smile I'm easily pleased!

I'm sick of it too, although DS is quite pleased as it's his birthday on sunday and we're having a bouncy castle in the garden. I wish it would cool to less than 24° in his bedroom though. He doesn't sleep very well with fans and sheets and just pants.

I would really like a long-range winter forecast to see whether to splash out on new boots and coat or not.

I've just had a look at the met office 3 month outlook

It suggests it is a little more likely to be warmer than average than it is to be colder than average over the next 3 months.

I'm annoyed. It's 20 degrees-ish, but gloomy and rainy (also Scotland). I feel daft in a summer dress when it looks like the middle of November. I just want autumn to get going so I can wear tights and boots. Bah.

This isn't new though, I often feel like this in September. Just get cold already!

Huh. Rubbish. I want it cold!

Rat, it's all about probability, so it's not set in stone by a long way. Fret not yet.

My ideal weather:21c through September and October, with October nights becoming increasingly colder. Some lovely gales thrown in.

Then November, December, January, cold, snowy when it's convenient. Not rainy or grey. Then Feb I'm ready for spring.

Not yet... I'm in London and apparently next Tuesday it will be 31C! I don't mind sunny warm weather, but I hate it when it's humid and sticky...

Report
RatOnnaStick · 09/09/2016 10:09

I'm quite happy for 18- 20° til the end of September but October needs to be nearer 14-16°, November 12-14° December around 8-10° and Jan-Feb average 5°

I'd like lots of cold crispy mornings and bright sunshine too please. Some frost wouldn't go amiss this year too, See your breath weather in the morning, warmer at lunchtime and hot chocolate temps for when it gets dark please Smile
