Hi there Kitten and Gloria don't suppose there is any chance of some dry, sunny weather for Manchester this BH weekend? Would love all the family round but don't want to plan too much in case it's a washout!! Hmm Thank you Flowers

I'd say at the moment there are chances of showers (some thundery), especially from Saturday afternoon, overnight and throughout Sunday. (I hope I've got this next bit right!) Monday looks like there could be longer spells of rain/quite wet for the Manchester area. Temperatures not much to write home about ~ 14-18C.
So not really awful but not that wonderful either ~ typical BH really!

Cheers Gloria for replying, thought that might be the case!! We'll have an indoor 'do' then Grin

I'm fairly optimistic about Monday at the moment. Its close, but a high pressure may just edge in.

I did wobble over the Monday forecast but at the moment, it does look like it could be the best day over the BH weekend now and if OYBBK says it could be OK I'm not going to argue!

Could I dive in and ask how Saturday is looking for the Epsom area? (Specific, I know!)

I'm getting married and trying to work out how good my wet weather plan needs to be.

It's possible that you might get some rain in the afternoon. Hopefully not much, nice and warm though rather than fainty hot.

Thanks OYBBK, I hope it's not too wet! Garden wedding and would be so lovely if we can be outside instead of in the marquee. Seems very changeable at the minute so hope it changes to sunny sun sun!

give me a prod tomorrow afternoon!

Such a beautiful day today, dammit, I should have had a Friday wedding.

I've looked at four forecasts this afternoon and none of them agree so just going to see what happens!

What about Wiltshire? Should I go to Devizes Street Festival on Sunday or Monday? (SN10)

Good luck with family bbqs in Manchester and weddings in Epsom Smile!

...catnip...catnip...catnip...catnip...

So, I have to make a REALLY quick decision between going away on Sunday (to France) & thus spending a fortune to get some MUCH needed sunshine or staying here & getting some stuff done & getting some sunshine.

I could do without spending the money to go away, but frankly I NEED some sun before Autumn arrives otherwise I'll really struggle through Autumn/Winter.

Any ideas what it's going to be like between now and the 4th of Sept?

Alpaca Don't think either day looks that bad although perhaps Monday looks the better day with slightly less chance of showers
Cafe (Not sure where you are UK-wise) Next week doesn't look too bad ~ for the south, sunny and warm but a bit cloudier with chance of rain for north/Scotland.
(Hope you both don't mind me answering ~ I know OYBBK can be a busy kitten sometimes!)

MakeLemonade Hope you have a lovely day, whatever the weather does.

Should add, there's a metoffice weather warning for heavy thundery rain tomorrow/overnight into Sunday.

Thanks GloriaSmud. Ok, as a result of your sage advice... Sunday will be SwanFest www.facebook.com/events/1642964279352216/ , with a bit of luck DP will do the driving and I can have a pint or six and Monday will be Devizes www.docadevizes.org.uk/events/street-performers

Thank you Gloria, yes lots going on at the moment and sometimes it's possible to respond to quick requests, but as Gloria will know, forecasting takes time and is challenging, esp on a phone!

Gloria is right about next weeks weather :) for hot, southern and central France are the places to go.

Some lightning strikes showing up on lightning maps at the moment.
We've had a couple of showers but nothing too thundery yet.

There seems to be several big storms in a line and one of them is inching closer to where I am (Leicester). They're quite excited about it all over on netweather's storm thread!
