Is this really summer? Really?!

It's the end of June and still predominantly shit :( I've got a BBQ here with lots of people on Saturday and the forecast is bit of sun and bit of rain but very crappy temp at max of 16. So at this rate we will get basically no good weather? For the last few years August has been crap too but usually June and July have been pretty good to make up for it. I know nothing can be predicted and I can't do anything about it but I am annoyed. I need more sunshine! I don't need 25 degree heat just late teen early twenties and no more bloody rain! Arrggghhh!

I sought out the weather topic for the same reason. Hoping someone will come along and give us good news.

Fingers crossed good weather is just a week or two away.

It's been raining with thunder storms in the NE ever since the referendum result was announced early Friday morning. Just saying... Grin

(I'm expecting a plague of locusts and fire and brimstone next week!) Wink

Fire and brimstone would be better than this. At least it would be warm Grin. OYBBK please give us good news. I'm in the South East by the way.

I'm fed up too. We don't want much just some sunshine, comfortable temperatures and minimal rain.

Any positive outlook? Please

Fed up too. Agree we haven't had a good August for ten years so that looks unlikely. July is normally the best month but the long range forecast doesn't show much improvement yet? No bbq's, haven't had the paddling pool out yet and sun loungers still in the garage.
We didn't really have a nice spring either.

Remember those three nice days we had in May and then all the summer haters came out moaning?! It's been raining for weeks now. How anyone can say this weather is better than a lovely sunny day I'll never know.

So many weddings, festivals, holidays ruined. I want to leave this country at the moment!

Also hating it! 37 weeks pregnant and stuck indoors with a boisterous 2 yr old most days is really getting me down. Bloody weather grrrr.

We have had a beautiful April, May and most of June. TBH that may have been our summer (Central Scotland). Often late August is nice.

But this is the way things are going isn't it ---- decent spring and autumn but wet summers. Must be true, my hairdresser said as much 5 years ago.

Have we lizzie? Sure there has been the odd sunny day but mainly it goes back to crappy rain and overcast rubbishness. If that was our summer I'm definitely emigrating!

My heating has been on here, for an hour at a time when my house feels cold and damp. It was on for three hours yesterday and we lit a fire in the evening! An hour today so far.

North east, old house with draughty windows. I am working in a fleece and my sheepskin slippers.

I'm cold. I'm fed up of not being able to dry washing (also my tumble dryer has died)
I've got boots and jeans and a fleece on, and its july on friday :(
It looks like a grim day in november outside, and theres so much freaking rain 😡

Keller - forecast improves greatly overnight here ..... I have got about ten loads of washing waiting to go on. I have got a dryer but hate using it, only use it for sheets/towels in the winter really.

Yes I'm pretty sure that for the bulk of the time Easter through to now it has been nice, that includes the long study leave when both kids were happy to study in the sunshine. To be fair, it's pants weather at the moment but that'll be because schools broke for the holidays yesterday.

I'm completely fucked off and miserable with this weather. Sitting in my car in my running gear waiting for ds while he plays football is not fun.

I suppose that when 21 June is first day of summer and 24th's Midsummer Day then it's all over by 27th June 😡

Absolutely no sign of anything improving any time soon.....

it is utterly pants isnt it. It may improve in the south for a little while next week, but generally the outlook for as far as I can see is for more of the same.

Sorry to hear that Titsy Sad. Not too bad a forecast here in North Yorks, a few showers on Friday and Saturday but otherwise good enough for my lowered expectations of summer!

Titsywoo · 29/06/2016 21:49

We were showing sunshine all day Saturday for about an hour earlier but now it says heavy rain for most of the day. We'll work around it but it's disappointing. We used to have an annual big bbq every year in our old house but since moving here 3 years ago we haven't due to lots of building work. Now we are done so I was really looking forward to it.

I just looked at the forecast in my area for the next 10 days.

Rain. Showers. Cloud.

Rubbish. Angry

It's so depressing. I thought last year was bad, at least we managed a few warm days. I haven't even had the paddling pool out.

It is depressing. And has the weather reporting always been so erratic? The forecast for tomorrow changes every couple of hours. At one point for tomorrow it was almost all sunshine but now it says heavy rain for most of the afternoon. Better get the gazebo out!

Agreed, they can't even get the forecast right. We had our Sports Day today, no rain forecast until 2pm, started pissing it down at 10am! Good luck for the bbq, it could well just be the odd shower and when the sun does come out it is warm!
