We have a yellow warning for rain in Sussex, I am praying it will turn to snow and they are wrong.

GloriaSmud · 13/01/2016 12:03

Was a cold night here (Leicester) as well. Rained last night and then it froze afterwards.
Think we're in for another cold night tonight ~ forecast to rain but hoping that it'll turn wintry as the temperatures drop.

No, no snow for Sussex, please. I have to get to Gatwick tomorrow to go & see PFGD & I don't want anything to spoil my trip.

Well done Gloria, as usual at the moment I'm trying to do too much in too little time.

magimedi and Meg - you may get a temporary covering of wet snow.

That snow can fuck right off!!

What sort of time - is that overnight?

We are in the South, I always hope for snow, but we rarely get any.

Still holding out for a little this winter!

OYBBK Smile
Think we're going to have a mix of rain/sleet/snow/mush overnight/into tomorrow. And this weekend looks really cold ~ temperatures barely getting above freezing in some areas.

DH and DS1 have gone off to watch football tonight - thermals on, layered up and waterproofs on. It's cold and raining steadily, with gusty wind.

Greater Manchester.

The rain has started in West Surrey.
Not much sign of snow in Braemar yet but it could well come.
Electric blanked primed for use tonight.

I really want it to snow -I've an exam at 9.30 that I really don't want to sit 😁

Near Leeds Bradford airport and the roads gridlock at the first sign of the white stuff

nannynick. We've not had a whisp of snow in North Hampshire but you've got it over there Envy. We've got that bitterly cold rain instead.

Nothing here in Cambs, very cold but no snow.

Report
pigsinmud · 13/01/2016 23:38

Surrey hills here. Just nipped outside with the dog. Didn't think it was that cold. Thermometer says 4.2 - I don't consider it properly cold until it gets to 1!

Not snowing in my bit of Edinburgh Sad but I'm almost at sea level. Had some fat flakes earlier and then rain/drizzle. Got cold enough to snow now though.

Yes it's in the higher parts. Was lying up in Fairmilehead and Liberton earlier.

We've had temperatures around 2C here (Leicester) most of the night so any stuff falling from the sky has been rain. But the temperature's dropped the last couple of hours and I've just looked out and it is actually snowing!

Freezing here in the west, I came home to find the house at 12 degrees and it took hours to get warm, I had the heating on for about 5 hours instead of the usual 1.

Report
Toraleistripe · 14/01/2016 08:30

Guess what......Manchester is cold and damp. Not a flake. Think it's about 3 degree. Not sure it's cold enough anyway.

I soooooooo want snow. DS hasn't ever really experienced it, he was a baby the last time we had significant snowfall here.

Clarella · 14/01/2016 09:15
