We have a yellow warning for rain in Sussex, I am praying it will turn to snow and they are wrong.

GloriaSmud Wed 13-Jan-16 12:03:33

Was a cold night here (Leicester) as well. Rained last night and then it froze afterwards.
Think we're in for another cold night tonight ~ forecast to rain but hoping that it'll turn wintry as the temperatures drop.

magimedi Wed 13-Jan-16 12:11:44

No, no snow for Sussex, please. I have to get to Gatwick tomorrow to go & see PFGD & I don't want anything to spoil my trip.

OhYouBadBadKitten Wed 13-Jan-16 13:25:03

Well done Gloria, as usual at the moment I'm trying to do too much in too little time.

magimedi and Meg - you may get a temporary covering of wet snow.

magimedi Wed 13-Jan-16 13:31:43

That snow can fuck right off!!

What sort of time - is that overnight?

Pipistrella Wed 13-Jan-16 13:38:11

We are in the South, I always hope for snow, but we rarely get any.

Still holding out for a little this winter!

GloriaSmud Wed 13-Jan-16 16:37:37

OYBBK smile
Think we're going to have a mix of rain/sleet/snow/mush overnight/into tomorrow. And this weekend looks really cold ~ temperatures barely getting above freezing in some areas. <wraps blanket around knees>

notsomanky Wed 13-Jan-16 20:12:19

DH and DS1 have gone off to watch football tonight - thermals on, layered up and waterproofs on. It's cold and raining steadily, with gusty wind.

Greater Manchester.

nannynick Wed 13-Jan-16 20:20:19

The rain has started in West Surrey.
Not much sign of snow in Braemar yet but it could well come.
Electric blanked primed for use tonight.

nannynick Wed 13-Jan-16 20:24:05

Snowmap is getting a bit more active. Not much Snow action right now but it may get more active overnight/tomorrow morning.

leesmum Wed 13-Jan-16 20:58:38

I love Snowmap, just drizzly and v.cold in nth Manchester smile

Madelinehatter Wed 13-Jan-16 22:34:23

Never snows in Manchester!

Emochild Wed 13-Jan-16 22:44:53

I really want it to snow -I've an exam at 9.30 that I really don't want to sit 😁

Near Leeds Bradford airport and the roads gridlock at the first sign of the white stuff

megletthesecond Wed 13-Jan-16 22:59:11

nannynick. We've not had a whisp of snow in North Hampshire but you've got it over there envy. We've got that bitterly cold rain instead.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 Wed 13-Jan-16 23:05:12

It's snowing in Edinburgh

NickAngel Wed 13-Jan-16 23:34:30

Nothing here in Cambs, very cold but no snow.

schilke Wed 13-Jan-16 23:38:39

Surrey hills here. Just nipped outside with the dog. Didn't think it was that cold. Thermometer says 4.2 - I don't consider it properly cold until it gets to 1!

Perihelion Thu 14-Jan-16 00:09:26

Not snowing in my bit of Edinburgh sad but I'm almost at sea level. Had some fat flakes earlier and then rain/drizzle. Got cold enough to snow now though.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 Thu 14-Jan-16 00:45:18

Yes it's in the higher parts. Was lying up in Fairmilehead and Liberton earlier.

GloriaSmud Thu 14-Jan-16 06:17:14

We've had temperatures around 2C here (Leicester) most of the night so any stuff falling from the sky has been rain. But the temperature's dropped the last couple of hours and I've just looked out and <wipes sleep from eyes> it is actually snowing!
<does happy snow dance>

notsomanky Thu 14-Jan-16 07:02:26

envy

passivesonata Thu 14-Jan-16 07:04:38

Freezing here in the west, I came home to find the house at 12 degrees and it took hours to get warm, I had the heating on for about 5 hours instead of the usual 1.

Madelinehatter Thu 14-Jan-16 08:30:09

Guess what......Manchester is cold and damp. Not a flake. Think it's about 3 degree. Not sure it's cold enough anyway.

I soooooooo want snow. DS hasn't ever really experienced it, he was a baby the last time we had significant snowfall here.
