Yes yes I know the SE have had hot weather. But in the far west it has been windy and grey, with the odd blast of humid warmth, for weeks. In fact it has been shite since Easter.

When are we getting a summer?

Does anyone else want to whinge impotently or is it just me?

:o

It's this bloody mizzly shit which is pissing me off most, with the damp wind making it all damper.

I know it is weather and people are usually polite and don't swear. I didn't say fuck though.

They keep taunting us with promises of better days, and then it all melts away, the wind comes round, and the low pressures keep coming. It's rubbish. Where is the Azores High? I have a RIGHT to know!

It has been ok in the midlands, and I was thinking how nice it has been... just before it has decided to rain, though people have been complaining because it has been cloudy and warm.
they should think themselves lucky it would seem. must be very annoying. weather only happens in the south east though. Hmm apparently.

Thank you Susan. It IS annoying. In Cornwall we are having the worst summer we've had for years.

I've got my heating on (hampshire).

it's so grey and muggy the house feels damp. I need some dry, warm air around me..

I'm mightily pissed off with the weather too.

Warm, but not warm enough. Cold but not cold enough to justify having the central heating on all day and night

I don't know what to wear for work - the day could start warm, then turn wet and cold - or vice versa.

I want summer. Now!

We went to Scotland (NW Highlands) for 2 weeks, like being in the inside of a cloud, worst summer they have had in ages and all on the news is heatwave this and London that.

Here in N W it's been pretty rubbish, windy, wet and humid or actually cold...

I just wish the bbc weather forecasters would be a rad more tactful.

SE
We had rain at last yesterday, but it did wait until I was in the middle of the dog walk and neither I nor dog had our raincoats on. The air looked foggy .

Sun came out in the evening.

Weather all year has been chopping and changing everyday.

Thursday we are due for 25 but depending on the changing wind direction, it is one day close and humid then the next day fresher and more pleasant.

one sort of assumes most of england and wales are having a good summer when we do, being in the middle.we hear local news and national news which is se biased. it is normal for scotland to be "different" to the southeast due to distance and there fore not newsworthy. If it is really bad we may get to hear about it, usually when it affects far enough south though too. the west country sticks out a bit and can often be different/first to bear the brunt of the weather. they sometimes get on the news as it can be spectacular. not heard anything about it being particularly different to the southeast though. or bad summers...

I wonder if I am biased as I don't like hot weather so the warmish not too high uv weather is good to me as I am happy with cloudy mostly dry weather. we have been lucky to have rain overnight a few times when a band of it has gone through.

it's dry around our way though (hampshire). I was looking at a nearby stream earlier and for the first time since before the autumn / winter 13/14 storms the stream is finally running low.

It has been awful these past few days. I have spent 3 weeks in Europe so should be grateful with temperatures anywhere from 32-51! It was literally SO hot. Then i come home to Scotland. Its dark, dull, miserable and cold. I have my heating on. Its really depressing. I feel sorry for those that havent been away. All i feel like doing is hibernating. Looked up the weather for the next two weeks and there is no hope in sight. Rain and cool weather. Highs of 17 plus rain and wind.

'Tis all so meh and chilly at the moment. My Mum and I were saying on Friday that the weather feels more like the end of summer (or back-endish, as she called it) than the middle of the season.

It is pretty shit! and although there will be some pretty nice days here and there, its not really high summer weather.
I might get more scientificy tomorrow ???? :)

It is really cold but I'm trying to savour it - off to Rome on Thursday which I'm really looking forward to, apart from the fact it's THIRTY EIGHT sodding degrees there. I know which I would prefer. Hilariously (or not) it's now scheduled to rain for the first two days we're there, but with virtually no drop in temperature to make up for this. Marvellous.

Well i was in Italy for around 10 days and it was seriously hot. You have to do everything in the morning. Everything closes at around 1pm as its too hot to do anything...but still it was blue skies and beautiful and i loved every minute of it. Enjoy your holiday tribpot!

Early morning starts won't bother us but we are on a tour (so a lot of stuff is scheduled already) with quite a lot of teenagers on, so I imagine their parents will be having a right old time getting them up first thing!

We really haven't had much good weather since Easter, have we? I went over to Wales (north coast) in the Easter hols and had magnificent weather. Since then ... two day heatwave that nearly finished us off, and the rest meh.

I am in the East & it is generally very dry here. It is fairly hot & muggy most of the time. I really wanted a thunderstorm to clear the air yesterday. It has been fairly windy. I'm going to Scotland in August so I hope the weather improves. I am expecting it to be cooler than here but was hoping it wasn't going to be too rainy.

I have a friend over in Iceland at the moment. They are crowing because the summer weather is upside down and they are getting the settled stuff and watching the fronts drift south east towards us.

The next week looks like bag of shite too.

Awaiting updates OYBBK (without much optimism). I've had the heating on this morning, it's blowing a hoolie and pissing down again (Western Isles). Kids here usually spend the whole summer on the beach, so everyone is v pissed off to have them all indoors and bored.
