Snow...is it a coming OYBBK?

My Facebook news feed had a post from Metcheck saying there is a possibility of snow around christmas week. They were at pains to say it was a long range forecast but I had a lurk on a few weather forums and there does seem to be a general feeling that we could have a cold snap at the end of December, particularly in the south.

Of course I have to ask you OYBBK as you are the weather oracle after all. So, what after the chances of snow towards the end of December?

Well there's going to be snow on the hills this week in Scotland. But nothing at low levels yet. Mind you winter doesn't start till tomorrow officially....

It's been unseasonably mild here. My boys had a paddle in the sea and ended up just in shorts and bare chests. It was very sunny with no wind at all. My face is a little pink too.

If I had my way it would never snow again!

Filthy horrible stuff.

Try spending 3 winters in the far NE of Scotland & then see how you like it!

Piers corbyn says snow around 5-8 December due to an incoming solar flare. That's high "major red" risk of snow too. I'm buying a new sledge.

Oh, I was just going to post this!

We 'have' to drive to the PILs on 27/12, in the SW (from London). DS1 has to get back from us (SW London) to Brighton on 26/12 and we then 'have' to go to my family in the North on 2/1/15

What are our chances, OYBBKY?!

snow is great.... when it is a treat and not often. when it disrupts everything for a long while, then different matter.

hoping for snow. next weekend would not be good though we are off to see a certain person... Xmas Grin

Marking my place. We have to drive from north London to Yorkshire on 27/12 and back on 29/12 and I really don't fancy being stuck on the M1 with a baby Sad

It's quarter to four and so dark here right now the cars need their lights on. It reminds me how dark it gets just before a huge dump of snow.

This Piers Corbyn fella, how reliable is he? [anxious] I'm torn between childish excitement for playing in the snow and grown-up dread for the hassle it causes.

My DD (3.5) is determined there must be snow for Christmas so for once I will watch hopefully for news of an influx.

I don't think you can say at this stage. All you can say is "It might snow".

I hope it doesn't personally!
