We've just had a heavy thundery shower here (Leicester) and the temperature dropped from 25C to 19.8C in 1/2 an hour. Just as the rain stopped and the sun came out, there was a rumble of thunder but that was it.

PigletJohn ~ that's a good website, I'll try and remember that one. BlackeyedSusan and I like this one as well!

just had a thunderstorm go though, about 1/4 mile away and some lovely views of lightning, cloud to ground.

S.Herts
We did have a downpour for 5 minutes a while ago, and now suddenly out of the blue and sunshine, I heard a clap of thunder, but sun still shining.

Ha ha, i have a friend from Australia who arrived in Leics a few days ago, I told him he was arriving just in time for the start of the rainy season.

I think he thought I was making it up....

I'm in Belfast and the sun is shining. DH has just texted me to say he's sheltering from the hailstones under a bridge, about 10 miles away.

The weather has been incredibly localised for the last week or so. H texted on Friday to say he would be late home because of rain. He came home with video on his phone of his taxi driving through flooded roads, the water was about 15 inches deep. We hadn't had any rain at all only 6 miles away.

Family has given the thunderstorm we had 4/10

Marked down for:
lack of consistent lightning. Was mostly pathetic
No hail
Dh thought it should be even more delugey
Lack of severe gusts of wind

Good marks for:

highish rainfall rate (98mm/hour max)
Quite high overall rain 20mm
Really good finale c-g thunderclap. Made me squeak a little Grin
Upsetting power a little bit.

Power misbehaving now. It's so predictable! Wouldn't think we lived in suburbia.

Love that the whole family are involved Kitten!

I'm gonna chance another load of washing on the line. It's that windy and warm, I will probably only need an hour!

Still very blue and sunny here. (Wouldn't mind a sudden down pour, just as DD's boyfriend decides he's spent enough time with his arse on my sofa today and goes home!) Grin

We seem to be getting another cell approaching. Might need to go over to mobile Internet.
Happy days!
