Snow Watch Part 4. The Winter continues....
(921 Posts)met office warnings For tomorrow for Scotland and NW England, extending to Yorkshire. NW Scotlant in particular looks awful with blizzard conditions.
I'm not quite sure about the warnings for England, I'm going to be really interested to see how they pan out. Tuesday scattered sleet and snow showers for many.
OYBBK. I didn't order any so that's ok. Phew.
Here we go again.
I think we are clear here though.
Have 7 degrees atm. No rain or sun today, but this morning my hands were frozen in my usual gloves, so this afternoon they were lovely and warm in my sheepskin ones . <smile>
Just marking place.
The Yellow is not quite to me, but its not far off.
I don't want any thanks. Don't want dh stuck at work again, we have a funeral Tues am.
I'd love some. We had about 2 lovely days in London, then it all turned grey and dismal and melty.
I no longer listen to your empty promises of snow, OYBBK
<very jealous of scotland people who get snow every year and to eat tablet too>
I wouldn't hold your breath manky! Nor you Stairs!
I'm still not terribly convinced for those in Yorkshire and the NW. I think that the main issue will be for Scotland, esp the NW.
A lot of rain for the SW on Tuesday I think. I wonder if another weather warning will be issues for them.
Liking your prediction oybbk
kitten, can you point me towards maps/radar where I can follow what's coming? We're covered by both wind and snow warning tonight. Still very calm at the moment
Glad I'm not in Scotland.
Good luck to you all up there.
rain today gives you some radar ( highly recommend the app) but other than that I'd keep an eye on the met office oricella.
Thank you.. rain is here now, still way too warm for snow though
Just marking my place.
Marking place the met office app predict heavy snow for the early hours of tues morning for us (north lincs)
South Herts
Well, full of surprises. Got up at 6.45am and already +9 degrees today. Newspaper just arrived and it says top temp +6? We'll see.
WoW that is certainly possible, but most likely in the north and the west of the county.
Looking at the situation briefly today, it does seem that the main risk of snow is in Scotland today. some atrocious conditions, please don't travel if you are in the warning areas without real consideration. For northern England (down to Lincolnshire) the risk isn't really until tonight and with rain first for many I'm really not sure how much accumulation will occur.
South Herts
Sky is now clearing from the south and clouds breaking up where we are.
Sun shining now and to north sky all blue - clouds in the south disappearing.
Might do some gardening.
Thanks kitten
<makes a desperate attempt to disable Manchester's snow shield before tomorrow>
Come on snow!
Beautiful, beautiful morning in west Wales, car says it's 8.5 degrees and the beach was fantastic, sunny and not blowing a gale for once.
tuesday's map is rather yellow! #
Light hail showers, but very windy here in Manchester. Lovely sunny intervals, but bitter cold!
Lots of tablet eating but very little snow, as I'm too close to the Firth of Forth. See all that snow all of you had.......managed a morning sledging before it melted.....
Still not understanding the lack of Wind warning for the Lothians. Forth bridge shut to everything except car and the wind's fierce. Sunshine and full on heavy showers that are almost sleety here.
