marking my place too Grin

PestoFrostissimos · 18/01/2013 18:28

Well it's still blizzarding here, but we don't mind as dd1 got in to school & did her exam and then they got sent home at 10.30am as the school closed. We've had a fab Snow Day with both dds managing to go sledging and we've checked the ponies and given them extra big feeds to cheer them up Smile

mankyscotslass · 18/01/2013 18:30

I'm going to read this thread and sulk! Envy

MirandaWest · 18/01/2013 18:32

There's a whole cm in York :)

redwellybluewelly · 18/01/2013 18:34

I'm checking in with Norfolk people who are wondering what more we have being sent our way.

x-posted with kitten before I think but BBC weather has it all wrong - has forecast heavy snow for the last 3 hours but we've actually had less than all day

LillethTheCat · 18/01/2013 18:38

Just marking place.

Not had much snow at all. There was a tiny flurry about 4 and that's been it so far. Am hoping it wont get any worse until tomorrow lunch.

wewereherefirst · 18/01/2013 18:39

We've not had any here, so any snow would be appreciated please! Smile

tak1ngchances · 18/01/2013 18:45

SW London had quite a lot of snow today and it's still falling steadily. If it does this throughout the night, I think we'll have a very clean & pretty world to wake up to tomorrow

CuthbertDibble · 18/01/2013 18:51

Herts/Beds border, approx 3-4cm at present, very light snow still falling.

Gritter has just driven past... but wasn't doing any gritting, maybe it had run out? Confused

MegGriffin · 18/01/2013 18:52

A good amount in west sussex but i'm greedy and want MORE!

pepperrabbit · 18/01/2013 18:53

Seems to be getting colder here, was definitely beginning to freeze when we just went out to get the kids. I think the roads will be treacherous tomorrow Sad
Garden looks pretty though! Grin

educatingarti · 18/01/2013 18:54

marking place but giving up on snow!

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 18/01/2013 18:57

ditto here meggriffin!

chartreuse · 18/01/2013 18:57

No snow in Dublin, although I did see a car with snow on the roof coming from the mountains. It has been bucketing rain for the last 24hrs. I am still hopeful for Sunday though, I would love a bit of snow Smile

DamnDeDoubtance · 18/01/2013 19:01

Still waiting. Keep checking on the radar and it seems to be heading my way.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 18/01/2013 19:05

Hi OYBBK I am a long time lurker on your weather threads and just love them!

Do you mind a question from DD1? It's her best friend's 9th birthday party tomorrow and it involves driving from NW London (Swiss Cottage) to Hemel Hempstead around 9am, returning around 1pm. So of course here is the question: is it going to be cancelled because of snow??!

thekidsrule · 18/01/2013 19:13

lots here today and the last decent amount here was 20+yrs ago Shock

wasnt suppose to get anymore but its snowing again now

Dorset and very near the sea

spent a great day with the kids, bought back many happy memorys of my snowy childhood

this is a real treat for us down south

TeWiSavesTheDay · 18/01/2013 19:15

Marking place

Pigleychic thanks for the Gatwick info. Hope both our DHs get home safe.

Have had a lovely day, though, Two fabulous walks with the dogs. Young dog in particular is crazy with it all, rushing around, madly excited, but keeps sinking into the snow.

DDs have built a snowman in the garden - it's got to be 6 foot high! Three huge sections and a tangerine nose just like in the snowman. It's too dark now to photograph it with my rubbish iphone but will try tomorrow. Can't see it melting any time soon!

Snow has stopped here now, though, and down the lane it was quite thin on the paths. We're meant to have loads of friends round tomorrow but I don;t know if they'll make it - and I have nothing to feed them!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/01/2013 19:24

Hearts, I'm afraid I don't know if it will be cancelled. It's looking like snow showers in that area tomorrow. Some of them may be heavy.
