Including amber for part of the south.

Rain is pretty common in the U.K,nothing to worry about really.

OhYoubadbadKitten Tue 20-Nov-12 22:09:04

Flooding is pretty common too.

Oh no, Im fed up with wind and rain and fog, I want it to get cold and SNOW AND SNOW and SNOW grin, Then I will be unable to get to work and can spend all day on the lovely snow treads on mn.

The Met office has given no major rain warnings for tomorrow, perhaps a little bit in the south west and Cornwall direction but no warnings at all for the rest of the U.K.

Sparklingbrook Tue 20-Nov-12 22:15:09

No to snow. Rain is better but definitely no to flooding.

bureni Tue 20-Nov-12 22:20:13

Hate flooding especially with a high tide since I am right on the sea with my house about 1 foot below sea level though I have not been flooded yet thankfully.

There is a pub locally that got very badly flooded in the bad rain a couple of months ago and has been closed for refurb ever since. It re-opens on 23rd. <fingers crossed>

Not just today, but tomorrow when once again the parts of the north west and western scotland are getting a warning. That area has had several bouts of heavy rain with accompanying yellow warnings recently.

There are 72 floodwarnings and alerts for the sw

updated warning map

OhYoubadbadKitten Wed 21-Nov-12 07:48:09

Actually, the NW are just outside the warning area this time smile but poor soggy western Scotland gets another round.

Sarahbeanieslawyer Wed 21-Nov-12 07:48:11

Thank you Kitten, much appreciated as ever smile

OhYoubadbadKitten Wed 21-Nov-12 07:48:44

You are welcome beanie smile

Sarahbeanieslawyer Wed 21-Nov-12 07:49:15

bureni, it depends where you live as to whether it is a cause for worry surely? Huge concern for many.

OhYoubadbadKitten Wed 21-Nov-12 07:54:05

Just looked at the wind gusts for tomorrow, close to 70mph near Plymouth tomorrow afternoon and 50-60mph quite widely along the south coast. Enough to bring down some weakened trees, especially where the ground is very soggy.
Pretty wind in East Anglia and eastern coastal counties for a time too.

Worcestershire calling. Torrential rain and very dark. Horrendous school run. sad

Namechangeforapropertythread Wed 21-Nov-12 08:47:12

Oh no. I want to go to longleat Friday. Please tell me it will be ok!

GloriaSmud Wed 21-Nov-12 10:35:09

Leicestershire signing in ~ just 'orrible out there; really, really 'orrible! Weather station says it's 8.9C and we've had 14.7mm of rain in the last 24hrs. We seemed to have gained an extra couple of ponds as well in the back garden!

GloriaSmud Wed 21-Nov-12 12:08:26

Can't believe how much the temperature's dropped in the last 1 1/2hrs ~ now down to 7.1C. And we're up to 19.5mm rain!

DameMargotFountain Wed 21-Nov-12 12:13:09

think am pretty near to you then Gloria

am just dried out from the school run, and it's raining heavier now

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows Wed 21-Nov-12 12:14:08

Standing water here on all the fields. A very soggy school run <wrings out spaniel from his wee break>

OhYoubadbadKitten Wed 21-Nov-12 12:46:07

Rather a sharp edge to the cold front, with some very gusty winds. Could get some thunder and lightning and possibly tornadoes, though I see torro haven't issued a watch.

GloriaSmud Wed 21-Nov-12 12:49:15

DameMargot ~ I'm not far from the M69/M1 junction so more Leicester city rather than Leicestershire!
Temperature now down to 6.5C!

Chickens ~ poor spaniel! Pets do not like extremes of weather!

OhYoubadbadKitten Wed 21-Nov-12 12:49:16

Fri looks quite wet early in the morning round longleat way but hopefully will dry up before the day starts properly.

Sparklingbrook Wed 21-Nov-12 13:29:38

Rain has stopped now. Everywhere flooded. sad
