Possibility of a nasty little storm on Friday in the south

Normally I'd wait until more of the models agree and there was a few consistent runs but it's half term and not too far away.

GFS have a nasty little low forming around the channel in the early hours of Friday. If it came off there would be severe gales in parts of the south and the channel. Will keep an eye on it and update as necc.

Please keep a bit bumped.

Worst of the winds could be in northern France with the current path modelled, but that could change, if it happens at all!

Thanks - that probably means that the fireworks will be a no-go Friday night do you think?

Oh I forgot about fireworks! Could affect them in the SE. Worth noting that this storm doesn't seem to be in the met office forecasts at the moment.

YY, forecast for Paris for Thurs/Fri is 'very agitated, with v.strong winds'. Just had a look and indeed it looks like it may touch on the SE coast.

I wonder what weather model they use. Interesting as the storm doesnt show on on UKMO and GFS shows the developments to happen on friday. There is however a good cold front that passes over france on thursday which could bring some active conditions and in general the isobars are quite close..

don't worry :) it seems to have mostly gone on the latest run! A low pressure does form but it doesnt really develop into a storm, instead it give northern france quite a windy time!
naughty gfs!

Big old thunderstorms in the South tomorrow evening would be wonderful! Think of all those trick or treaters that'll change their minds and stay indoors! Grin
