Band of rain tomorrow (Monday).

The metoffice haven't issued a weather warning about this but on all the forecasts I've seen today, this band of rain starts moving in from the west from 1am, doesn't seem to move very far (spends the whole day right over us in Leicester!) and then (typically!) moves off eastwards from 4pm (it's going to brighten up just before it gets dark, isn't it?!)
Just thinking it could produce quite a lot of rain and conditions could be very wet under~wheel and foot!

Oh,I really hope it does rain here tomorrow. My poor plants are dying fast and the farmers tell me that their yields are way down for this year already. We keep getting forecast rain and it seems to skirt Leicestershire somehow.

no warnings this morning. For some a decent amount but it weakens as it moves sE and unless it starts becoming convective I think those in the SE may be disappointed with the amounts they receive.

Typically my electronic rain gauge ran out of batteries over night. Emergency replacement required!

Very wet here! If the trees weren't all green and in full leaf, it could almost be an Autumn day, it's so dull out!

And as I said would happen, the rain's cleared away, the sun's come out and it's a lovely evening now!

Isn't it funny how different things can be in the same country! We had a lovely warm day then at about 4pm the cloud moved in and we managed a grand total of 1.5mm of rain before it stopped. Grey now. Enjoy your evening!

GloriaSmud, same here, lovely sunshine at 8pm,but it is raining again now.

We went to try out a pony this afternoon and spent over an hour out in the rain with it-the dds were so overjoyed at the thought of their own pony that they didn't notice how wet they were.Grin

The dds can't quite believe it yet OYBBK.The first thing they asked this morning was if the pony was coming today.I'm as excited as they are and if I sat on the poor thing,my feet would touch the floor.

Glorious sunshine today-just the thing for the hay, that rain arrived at exactly the right time.

How exciting for you all, Mirage!
When is he/she arriving ~ there's some lovely weather coming up that would be great for pony-riding!
On the animal/nature related theme; I discovered today that a few of the tadpoles in my pond have started developing back legs!

We are collecting him on the 11th,GloriaSmud,and are trialling him for 2 weeks until the 25th, to see if he is suitable. We are very lucky that his current owner is so nice-most vendors won't let you try them away from their premises.I was walking through the village yesterday in the sunshine and thinking how lovely it would be for the girls to ride around if it stays like this.We are really fortunate in that my dad has a farm with about 250 acres a mile away from our house,so there is loads of private off road hacking over the fields for them.I'll post photos as soon as he is 'ours'.

I never get over the excitement of tadpoles growing and turning into frogs-it seems impossible when they are swimming about like tiny commas.

That sounds wonderful Mirage ~ I should think your DDs are counting down the days. How good of the owner to let you have a 'try out'. I shall look forward to seeing some pictures of him!
