When to wean your baby onto solid food? And how to do it? Read (purée-splattered) tips from other Mumsnetters
My 9.5 month old daughter really doesn't seem interested in putting things in her mouth (occassionally i catch her, but very rarely). She's 100% breastfeed and has been on solids since 6 months. She does have issues with mashed food, possibly because she has only just got her first tooth?!Am i expecting too much from her?Don't remember my son taking this long. She is really happy when you give her food to hold but has no interest in putting it in her mouth.I'm not worried but would appreciate any comment or thoughts etc. It's my first time on Mumsnet so please be gentle!
The tooth thing isn't a big deal, I have known toothless babies who were great with finger foods, and toothy babies who wouldn't have lumps.Just remember, food is for fun until they are one.If she is putting on weight ok, and is happy, I wouldn't worry. Some babies take to weaning quickly, others not so much. She will get there in the end!hth
