Ds2 has been on purees for a few weeks and was doing well so I thickened it - did well with that so I whizzed it a little less in the blender - did well with that too. Now if I mash it he won't eat very much - what to do? I never had this with ds1. I'm worried that he won't be able to eat lumpy/ proper food.

He's probably used to sucking what's on the spoon to the back of his throat, and if he does that with lumps, they might make him gag, as they arrive too far back to be able to chew. How is he on finger food?

Just started him on finger food yesterday. Not too great with getting it in his mouth by himself but I gave him bits of croissont this morning by hand and he loved it!

croissant is always a fave! they get the hang of it, just give lots of opportunities. roast veg sticks are a really good first finger food and keep for a few days in the fridge so you cook a batch.
